I have this feeling there will be zero Gen-X presidents, just as there were zero Silent Generation presidents.  We will keep seeing Boomers until 2028 or 2032, when we elect our first Millennial president.  Sad!

It better be Gen X. Democrats do better when they nominate younger candidates.

Who knows at this point? Chelsea Clinton is 36 and might run for Congress. I doubt that she'll be the nominee, of course, but she is old enough.

How old are most of the possible contenders?

Warren will be seventy-one, Harris will be fifty-six, Booker will be fifty-one, Sherrod Brown will be sixty-eight, Kanye West will be forty-three, Gillibrand will be fifty-four, Klobuchar will be sixty, Cortez Masto will be fifty-six, Duckworth will be fifty-two, Gabbard will be thirty-nine, Sanders will be seventy-nine.

Probably Gen X, but these generations are stupid.  Does someone born in 1979 (a Gen-Xer) really have more in common with someone born in 1964 than 1981 (a Millennial)?

You have to draw the line somewhere.

I mean this more in the sense that these generations are silly- especially the people who say "I'm a millennial, so I...".

Noooooo

Anyway I feel like the Republicans will finally nominate a GenXer in 24 or 28, but s/he'll be the underdog. The Democrats are probably going to nominate another boomer but we'll see.

Something I learned today: Kamala Harris is older than Kirsten Gillibrand.

Interesting thread, 56 people voted and only 9% or so thought the 2020 democratic nominee would be a member of the Silent Generation, both leading democrats are currently members of the Silent Generation. Goes to show how hard it is to accurately predict what might happen in the future.

To be fair, I don't think that anybody, in the immediate aftermath of the last election, really thought that Biden would actually run this time around.

If you asked me after 2016 if Sanders or Biden would run, I'd say no to both.

I forgot he was still running.

When I google "Michael Bennet 2020" the first result is an ad for Mike Bloomberg.

One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn't belong.

Well a few of them don't belong, but one is not like the others.

The one who isn't a Democrat. Well, the one who isn't a Democrat and also isn't Bernie Sanders?

Also, wtf, I'm older than Kanye West?

Generational labels are arbitrary.

But in turn I will say that they will without a doubt be 70 or over.
