In debate with J.B. Pritzker, Gov. Bruce Rauner says illegal immigration contributes to Chicago gun violence

He's really going hard after those McCann votes.

The Tribune has been acting as a far-left rag for the last few years.

How is endorsing Rauner for reelection acting as a far-left rag? Am I missing something?

Yes, you're missing the fact that Green Line is a right-wing hack.

It just gets weirder every week in this race. Here's today's gem.

Disgusting. The fact that this guy managed to win a primary is proof that Democratic voters are just as low-information, shallow and easily duped as their Republican counterparts.

What a sh*tty, sh*tty race.

The lawsuit seems off/weird for a lot of reasons.

But at the same time, there does seem to be a pattern of the Pritzker campaign not having its sh**t together especially when it concerns race.

I'm not sure what to make of this other than that this state is cursed and we're all screwed.

I think it's rather clear Pritzker's not going to win in 2022, unless Trump is still President.

I mean, even if it were proven to be true, he'd still win huge majorities of minority voters...

Pritzker's response was even more tone-deaf, he just said some stuff about how hes gonna have the most diverse administration in state history instead of addressing the people complaining about race quotas lmao

In Illinois politics this is a virtue. Many voters in Chicago and nearly all of downstate do.

Anyway, I'm glad I no longer live in Illinois so I don't have to vote for this piece of garbage. Smiley

I don't even understand why Pritzker is going through all of this to run a state as messed up as IL, I don't get Rauner's reason either. What about IL fascinates these rich guys so much.

Yeah, being the governor of Illinois is an entirely thankless job.

Pritzker campaign claims lawsuit doesn’t get its facts right

Lawsuit claims that Pritzker never visited the Region 6 office, located on the South Side, due to the violence in the area. Campaign claims they have  travel record indicated he's visited the office 4 times.

Lawsuit also claims a campaign worker assigned to Peoria was forced to stay in her car after a supporter refused to house someone who was black, and then subsequently was kept in a hotel in a bad part of town over her objections. Campaign claims they have receipts for hotel reservations starting the night before she started, in many different parts of town, including two nights where they booked a second room at a different hotel for her after a complaint. There were two nights where she stayed with supporters in Peoria.

Two more big holes blown in discrimination lawsuit against Pritzker

Lawsuit claimed that Regional Field Director DeJuan Jackson, in exchange for his silence, was given a raise and promotion. Rather bizarrely the lawsuit also claims that the campaign "strongly encouraged" him to cut his dreadlocks so as to not look "so crass" and look less offensive to white people. Mr. Jackson says he was never given any sort of raise or promotion, and that no one ever told him to cut his hair.

A third thing mentioned is that one of the plantiffs, on the night the suit was filed, tweeted out an event they worked in which LTGov nominee Juliana Stratton attended. It isn't shocking at all that people would continue working for the campaign even while alleging racial discrimination and harassment. But it did strike some as odd that you would still, while alleging this mistreatment, tweet out about enjoying it. But meh, that's hardly the most pressing issue right now.

I can't speak to the charges of a hostile racially-tinged working environment, but unless the campaign is just making up hotel receipts and campaign visits, then it seems the lawsuit's credibility is seriously in question.

The things posted just above concerning this lawsuit and the fact that there was a letter to the campaign the day before asking for 7.5 mil or the lawsuit would be filed and it would appear in the press sure makes it look like something strange is going on here.
Of course this is Illinois - we should all be used to this by now.
