In Kasich’s defense, he did that veey early one and it was customary. It didn’t become clear Taylor wouldn’t support his signature achievement until relatively recently. Though that said, I stil sometimes think he only endorsed Taylor as an act of sabotage.

I don't think he should focus solely on turnout; there's a lot of swing voters in Ohio, and you can't win with just "the base" here. But I think it would be smarter to try to reach out to Obama-Trump voters in Appalachia and northeast Ohio than whatever the hell he's doing here. He can win people in places like Franklin county and Delaware county without sucking up to Kasich (which turns off a lot of potentially winnable voters and doesn't win many new ones, if any at all.)

DeWine is probably running a campaign of "I won't be a capitulating RINO like John Kasich", so I wouldn't be surprised if Kasich does not endorse him. He'd be endorsing a local politician that thinks he is the devil.

He's probably trying to drive up the Democratic margin as much as he can in Central Ohio. Which, like, fine. Whatever. He's not winning Licking and Fairfield again like he did in 2006.

Please, PLEASE Let this be real.  DeWine is freaking doomed if this is anywhere near correct, especially on Trump Voters.  If Cordray is flipping the Trump Voters in NE OH and Appalachia, as well as holding Hillary Rs in the Cincinatti and Columbus Suburbs, it'll be a rout.

I just noticed Wes Retherford was successfully primaried out of HD 51. Long time coming. Probably means the outside shot at taking that seat is nil, though.

Largely agreed. What's wrong with Phil Robinson though? I don't understand the Columbus area so I don't know what they like.
