The results are pretty much the same, other than in VA where Dem running mate Tim Kaine broke free of the spell and campaigned harder in the suburbs of his (new) home state. When the spell wore off the democratic party was victorious.

Ultimately it's the 37,107 voters of W that give Clinton that superstate and the presidency. Trump would need to make himself not hated by Asian Americans of the Seattle metro somehow - or failing that, try to make Wisconsin not just flip but vote like Ohio, and maybe West Virginia voting like Mississippi whites.

How do you get Manhattan to change states?

...well, there is a workaround. Let's say you want NYC or just NY county to be part of NJ. Transfer all but one NJ county to NY. Transfer all upstate NY counties to the last remaining NJ county. Transfer the last NJ county to the rest of NJ.
