@election_data: Bulkington (Nuneaton). Huge Conservative GAIN
Lab 24%, down from 36%
Con 76%, up from 36%
UKIP did not stand - they got 28% in 2014

That's shocking for Labour.

I am surprised how poorly LIB is doing so far.  I thought relative to 2013 there should be a revival.  I guess the collapse of UKIP vote share to CON outweighed any gains in vote share they might have had.

@britainelects: Labour fears they've lost control of Merthyr Tydfil and Blaenau Gwent.

It's hard to judge how well the Lib Dems are doing until we see the vote shares. They usually do better in terms of seats when the Conservatives are doing badly, as more of their potential seats are contests between them and the Tories.

@markpack: Remember: if Labour loses seats overall, will be first time since records began that official opposition has lost seats three years in a row

Ouch.

Labour doing as badly as expected while UKIP is being completely wiped out is so very pleasing. I really should go to sleep but these results are just too pleasing to stop watching.

The Nuneaton LAB parliamentary candidate has lost his seat on Warwicks council and blames Corbyn for his defeat.

@roger_scully on twitter:

"Still appears to be the case that UKIP have lost every council seat they were defending."

Are we seeing the beginning of the end of UKIP?

UKIP are dead, IMO. They don't even have the European elections to boost their publicity every five years anymore. They've served their purpose.

Unless they can reform as a right wing alternative to the Conservatives, they have no future.

If it weren't for the general election in 33 days, Corbyn would've resigned tonight. Absolutely shambolic from Labour. He should thank May for giving him an extra month drawing Leader of the Opposition salary.

Why would that be?  Corbyn could always use 2009 results as the benchmark for measuring his performance claim that he did just as well if not slightly better than Brown in 2009.

What a disastrous and embarrassing night for Labour. I actually feel bad for some of the casualties as I do blame Corbyn for many of Labour's mishaps. The man is so full of himself that he can't even admit his flaws and faults. Theresa May is going to have a successful premiership.

The Liberal Democrats currently have more elected councillors than Labour.

That will change, but it is shocking to see LD above LAB in totals.
