In other news, my graduation paper is pure buffalo-f[inks]ing, and I have to start from scratch and write 5 pages over the next week because I went in a totally different direction than I was supposed to.

Topic?
I was gonna go with the role of the Vice President, but I spent eight pages going off on a tangent about each Vice President's role (up to Fairbanks, at this point).
Attempted to shrink it to the point that it can fit on five pages, failed to the point of only getting 7 pages, said f[inks] it, added two more. Now on Charles Curtis.

And on a totally different note, I wrote yet another essay to send to my folks re: changing teams that I don't have the balls to send. Apparently, I didn't mention it here before, so I might as well now.

It seems that I forgot to mention in the chaos, but I had to move back home.

I'm sorry to hear that. What happened with your trade gig?

I learned a lot from it, and will try to find a job up here in it if I have too.

My new job is dope. I bitched once about panhandling bans being unconstitutional ... I have now been selected to draft a new ordinance gutting the ban... also get to revamp event permits. I just wish I didnt have to fine poor innocent land owners for for lacking driveway permits or having a little asbestos in their home.

Publication of the second part of my novel had been accelerated, given previous delays with the first one (a paperback, as well as properly edited kindle version should be out like any day now). The former is extremely embarrassing for me.

Due to my semi-absence I forgot to mention this altogether. About a week ago I attended my friends' wedding party held in a nice Georgian restaurant. They had to get married abroad, since The Most Serene Republic's record of LGBT rights is not something to be proud of Angry

Me and the happy couple (as you can see, they already consumed a considerable amount of Georgian wine):

It was a post-wedding party, since they got married in Scotland (and I wasn't there). Food was freaking great. I wish I weren't on antibiotics at that date, because Georgian place = flow of wine.

I had to wear an IDF uniform yesterday.
While it's hot and uncomfortable, I have to say that the sturdy boots are fun, and that it's pretty cool when the bus driver just waves you in.
Also, this uniform can do magic to people- there was someone in the recruitment office with me who dressed pretty badly, and thus looked meh. But when he wore that uniform... damn. A whole new person. On the other hand, some people just don't look good in it, so it's really a hit or miss.
Lastly, I discovered a problem I have- I just can't handle short-term connections, that is, casually befriending someone you likely won't ever see again, like in the conscription office. When the realization hits that I won't see them again, I start thinking that I didn't do proper farewells and get a mini depression for a day or two.

Dan and I are moving across town to this house next summer, after some interior walls inside are moved around, and the footprint in back expanded to convert a laundry room behind the kitchen into a breakfast room open to the kitchen, with a view of the garden behind.  Supposedly the right portion of the home was built in 1780 by the first mate of a whaling ship (the left portion being added in 1850). I strongly doubt that since the proprietors who laid out Hudson, did not even show up to purchase the land patent and establish a whaling port until 1783. 1820 might be more like it, which still makes it one of the oldest surviving homes in Hudson.

Why?  That house has character, even if it does seem excessively large for only two people.

Nice. Which ward is it in?

The 1st ward. It is at 17 Union Street. The oldest part of the city (except the part that was razed for the projects housing in the late 60's and early 70's - see images below of the Dresden like images), is nearest to the river. It's two blocks from the train station.

I spent most of yesterday touring some farms making use of technology for more efficient and sustainable agriculture. The robots in a milking barn allows are becoming quite sophisticated, keeping human hands and their germs off of the udders. Here's the manufacturer's video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vo4NJU5wTk

They even had a Dalek to help in the barn like this one.

I'm pretty sure I heard it say "Now ruminate. Now ruminate."

Also, this thread is a few pages off from the end. I'd better start counting all our posts again like a sad loser with no friends (oh wait, that is what I am)

I realize we've hit 80 pages and I'm being lazy but if anyone else starts the new thread I will personally f[inks] you up Smiley
