Indeed. I PMed you as soon as I saw it because your vote was invalid as it had more than one ballot on it.

Uh, it's a good rule that you cannot edit your ballots *after* they are cast, after a specific period.

In any case, 5+ hours for fhtagn's edit is a bit much.

I'm happy to appoint the commission to adjudicate this, as I think it's important to settle this.

What do you think JustinTimeCuber?

Do you think that's a fair way to do this?

No, I'm suing you, because you decided you get to make up arbitrary rules without telling people first.

Ben. Stop it. There is nothing in the rules here. Speakership isn't a partisan position, and it's obvious JTC won here.

If this is not resolved in 12 hours, I will be taking control of the situation.

You're more than welcome to take your dispute up with Justice JBrase.

This election is closed.

I'm going to accept Cuber's ballot.

The official results are:

Diptheriadan:

Ben Kenobi, CelticEmpire

JustinTimeCuber:

JustinTimeCuber, Jacobin American

Invalidated:

fhtagn

I'm not ok with accepting ballots edited five hours after they were cast. I don't care if it was CelticEmpire, me or fhtagn.

Uh, Cuber's already taken it up with Justice Brase. I'm pretty sure the Governor has to abide by the process.

I'm more than happy to abide by whatever Justice Brase decides. Are you?

This is actually Peebs' job, fwiw.

And again - she's not a Federalist. She agrees with me that fhtagn's ballot ought to be invalidated. 5 hours is a long time to edit your ballot.

So there we have it. You've already taken it up with Justice Brase as is your right. I'll happily comply with whatever ruling he delivers.

Peebs, in your expert opinion, when you run an election it's 15 minutes that is the norm?

Well, see, we have all been waiting a week to actually get to work. I am not waiting for a Court case to be decided. Since we have a vacancy, I am using my power under Article 3, Section 8, to make the appointment of Speaker, as our current rules are absent of the procedure under a tie. This appointment shall only be temporary until the decision is finished falling under my administrative powers to execute the law, and does not break Article 4, Section 9, as the rules do not provide for the tie of a election, therefore the decision and power of the Chamber to elect it's leader is now for the Judicial Branch to decide under Article 5, Section 3, to interpret the law.

TL;DR: The Chamber has voted and there is no certain conclusion, (because ties are not provided for in the Constitution, nor the Rules of our Chamber in contrast to their powers in A4S9) therefore I will be using my administrative powers to appoint a Speaker to fulfill my obligations to make "political appointments".

Yes, but a Speaker election is different than a federal or regional election.

This was all going to Brase anyways...

I'm contesting this and filing my own case against Governor Never Again.

Yes, but a Speaker election is different than a federal or regional election.
Just wondering, is there an official law or somewhere in the Southern constitution where it says 15 minutes? If not, I'm skeptical that that's allowed.

We'll have to wait for Brase to decide. Smiley

Why are you so afraid of his ruling?

Indeed I do. Speaker Diptheriadan was vacating his position as Speaker and appointed me to the position.

Are you suggesting that I can now appoint Diptheriadan to the Speakership as he did me?

No, DTR was governor when he appointed you and he appointed you from the governor's office.

Run a second vote here, with the same candidates, for 72 hours, and clearly state the rules, and I will withdraw my court case.

Cuber, I offered to form a Committee with Leinad, Spiral and Peebs. The reason being that this is a delegates matter.

Spiral is not a federalist or a laborite. Peebs is with Labor and Leinad is with the Federalists. I felt that was a better option than going to Brase, who is a Federalist.

The rules do need clarification and I thought this would be the fairest way to do so.

My offer stands. I'm happy to form the committee, but I cannot do that while you've filed with Brase. Constitutionally, you've taken everything out of my hands right now.

Technically, Jbrase isn't a Fed. He's with the Southern Alliance, a one-man-band.
