Poland, Ukraine, etc. They've been here since the 1880s to early 1900s, so I assume they vote like other white groups. Trump's collapse in suburban chicago, though, leads me to believe he lost the polish vote by whopping margins.

It will have varied dramatically by country. I'm part of a Russian students club (I'm only a tiny part Russian, but I joined to practice speaking Russian) which loves Donald Trump, and I'm guessing he did well with recent immigrants from Russia nation-wide. Slovenians probably have a soft spot for him as well, thanks to Melania.

-The most Polish county in America is Luzerne, PA, which went for Obama, but was Trump's best county in the PA primary and Trump won by a large margin in the general. I've always thought of Chicagoland suburbs as elite and WASPy, so they're not natural Trump country.

As for most categories of White voters, Trump won Eastern European Whites, in their specific case, certainly by a larger amount than Mitt.

Portuguese around here swung pretty hard to Trump. It wasn't enough to take the county, but a few towns flipped for him (some flipped to Clinton, but those ones are predominantly Irish) and the margin went from 21% to 10%.

Well, my 94-year-old grandmother remembers her mother's tales of life in Poland/Lithuania under the influence of the Czar, as well as pen pals with cousins in Russia and Belarus for about 70 years.

Let's just say she hates Russia with a passion.

Not all Eastern Europeans have the same attitudes as Poles (or western Ukrainians). For example, I'm willing to bet that Trump won Bulgarian Americans handily.

Most of my Czech family went for Trump.  His underperformance in the Chicago suburbs was attributed to his lack of popularity with affluent voters, particularly in the north shore townships, most of whom are WASP or Jewish.

He seemed to do well enough to win.  Unless you're gay, a minority, or here illegally there's no reason for you to support Democrats.
