I don't know about a poll, but 538 did an estimate of the previous bill's popularity by district, and GA-06 came out as 34% support, 49% oppose.

I'm not sure how good their methodology is, though, since the only demographic data they appear to have used is which presidential candidate people voted for in 2016. Given that this is historically more of a Republican district, and its leftward trend in 2016 was probably not because of health care, I wouldn't be surprised if the actual support numbers are a bit higher than those would suggest. Still, not popular.

Well Republicans got 51% or so of the combined vote in the primary, so assuming turnout is the same, he needs to pick up votes somewhere.

Yes, but in the primary there was a Republican candidate for everyone. Will Trumpists and Teabaggers support a country-clubber like Handel? We know the reverse is true, but I need to see further convincing that the reverse is. And remember, Handel can't afford to lose even 10% of the other R candidates' votes.

The House's passage of Trumpcare is probably going to provide a much needed boost to Ossoff's campaign and might even push him over the edge to win the runoff.

Seeing as this district repeatedly voted for tom price Im not so certain.

I'm fairly certain his 2016 win was more on placing a check on Hillary, who was presumed to be the inevitable presidential victor, than anything else. As for his earlier wins, well, the Pre-Trump Republican Party is an entirely different animal. 2016 was a realigning election and we should not give much weight to 2014, 12, etc. as a result.

If someone else can clarify what is going on, I am all ears, because it stands now, it seems GA has done auto voter registration. Seeing as Republicans control everything in that state, I'm at a loss for words as to how they went along with this...?
