No. I don't want someone who is flat-out putting pornography in their signature, or who admits to paying a prostitute (even if they tip her well) on the forum.

Photos of chubby black women don't constitute pornography, unless I missed something far more explicit.

Also, I didn't expect you to be such a prude when it comes to paid sex.

It's not that I'm a prude, but that this is a family forum (well, at least it's supposed to be) so discussion over when one has actually slept with a prostitute crosses a line for me.

There's stuff that is a million times worse posted every single day in this forum

Clearly we have lazy mods (other than Virginia, and maybe Torie).
I would explain to you why that is an idiotic statement but I'm just too lazy.

No one can explain what Russia did or why I should care. Why is it so difficult to put this in clear language? Maybe I'm just not smart enough to understand what has happened.  Most of your post went over my head.

I’ll pretend to believe that you didn’t understand my post and will simply reiterate that the Putin autocracy and the Trump campaign collaborated in Trump’s triumph in the hopelessly corrupted 2016 US presidential election. There’s plenty of solid evidence for anyone who cares to look at it, but the standard of proof and “transparency” being demanded by tedious litigators and polemicists like Glenn Greenwald of US intelligence agencies, law enforcement, and special prosecutors is ridiculous beyond belief, as if they would jeopardize ongoing investigations in the misplaced hope that the “skeptics” would change their views.

But go ahead and dismiss all of this. I don’t expect you to change your mind, anyway.

Tedious? Try writing a sentence with fewer than half a dozen clauses. You use adjectives like my hypertensive uncle uses salt.

PR link's post seemed perfectly legible to me. I'll volunteer to try to put it in words you might be able to understand:

No Witch Hunt! Trump's campaign ran many Illegal Scams. There is LOTS of EVIDENCE. The only reason Traitor Trump isn't in jail already is the Deep State's respect for the law and due process. So much lawbreaking from the Trump Campaign. MAGAts don't care because they're Brainwashed by a Sick Cult. Sad!

If anything, I'm the burn victim in that exchange. Tongue

Why? It's not you the one who is being willfully obtuse.

The parents were out of line, but the girls' restroom is for girls only, period. I don't want anyone to just identify themselves as girls. I mean, we condemn people pretending to be ethnic minorities just to get scholarship perks.
I mean to be fair, I wouldn't want you in the same bathroom as my little cousins either, but that's more of a reflection of you individually than it is all transpeople.

Sanchez openly displaying his bigotry (again) isn't a burn.

FYI, Sanchez's "burn" was deleted by the mods.
So I guess they need a lecture about the English language too.

Not sure what disgusts me more; the far-right trashing him and his military record for having the gall to criticize Trump and have a maverick-ish voting record, or those on the left who are disingenuously praising him now for those same Trump criticisms after having called him a racist, a violent misogynist, and a warmonger in 2008

How about the people who deliberately spread false domestic violence allegations?

He is not a progressive. He is a New Democrat & is a part of that caucus. This 90% stuff is BS & Hillary & Bernie had like 90% common votes. Beto himself declines to call himself a progressive.

HE is A Wall Street Democrat who voted to weaken Dodd Frank & for the big banks, voted to advance TPP, for more oil drilling & so on. This is in a 6 year duration where he had to take few tough votes so you add to the fact that he is not qualified. He didn't co-sponsor Medicare for all or Free College while he was in the house.

This was you literally less than a month ago:

Beto ran to the farthest left of any Senate candidate - Abolishing ICE, Impeaching Trump, Medicare for all, No PAC money & he ran a consultant free clean campaign.

The reason you’re lashing out against Beto now is because you have a personality cult attachment to Saint Bernard Sanders and any serious threat to him gets their record nitpicked by you.

You of course would never talk about Bernie voting to dump a bunch of nuclear waste in a poor Hispanic district of course...

It's pretty amazing that 37% of folks here think such a double standard is acceptable.

Is this OK?

If it is OK, would it be OK if I looked up Quranic Scripture and made similar parodies?  I don't intend to, but would it be OK?

I wonder if you’re as much fun in real life as you are here.

I must say, I do appreciate that the Atlas forum allows me to interact with tedious old Puritans whom I would never normally encounter in real life.

My dear, your parasol is clearly not keeping the evening Rays off your delicate skin. Perhaps you should retire to The Big House for an evening lemon water , and listen to the slaves croon to the sunset with their banjos.

No use in conversing with you further. It really does scare me that you are a father. What kind of example are you setting for your kids by engaging in this charade? By mocking other posters for their viewpoints and for their beliefs. I've made plain my position on Philips and on this incident, and I've also made plain my objections to how other Atlas users have treated it. I've also called you out for your repeated pattern of abusive behavior.

Great point Calthrina. How does Badger explain to his children his behavior on US election atlas dot org at night? It’s tragic.

Cry

( in seriousness, I'm sitting here cuddled up with my son under a blanket recovery from Mutual colds and watching Bob's Burgers together. So yeah , I got this.)

Meanwhile, back at the Kentucky Colonels Plantation, Miss c a l t h r i n a oh, you have clearly developed a case of the vapors. Your womanly hysteria is getting ahold of you, my dear. Please have a good lie down on the Davenport while I call old Becky to Fan you.

Years from now you will fondly remember the quiet moments you spent with your son attacking people on-line.

Good Times. Good Times indeed.

I will also look back with fond amusement at having my parenting criticized by people unlikely to ever procreate.

It was a wrong statement by Trump, and there is no defense for it.  It's one of the worst statements in politics I've ever heard.

The "whataboutism" that people complain about, however, is legitimate.  Jesse Jackson has never refuted his comments about New York being "H----town" in 1984, and Democrats running for President still make their way to his Rainbow PUSH Coalition events to seek his approval, and I don't see anyone here apologizing on behalf of the Democratic Party for the fact that its candidates still make their way to an open anti-Semite.  To this day, Al Sharpton refused to admit he perpetrated a hoax in the Tawana Brawley scandal by supporting false charges of rape against white police officers, and he's an integral part of the MSNBC commentariat.  Not only has no apology been made by either of these folks; no apology is demanded by any of those who are now jumping on Trump.

So, yes, Trump's attack on Mrs. Dingell was hurtful, and deliberately so.  It was an unambiguously crappy thing to do, and something he has no excuse for.  But equally crappy behavior has not been cause for the bulk of Democrats here to not de-legitimize Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.  (And to say "equally crappy" on the part of Sharpton is charitable; his behavior caused two (2) people to have to defend themselves against Sharpton's false charges.)

Democrats have "gone low" on Trump, but cheered on Eric Holder when he said, "When they go low, we kick them."  This is what that looks like.  Trump ought to dial that back, simply because it's the right thing to do.  He should apologize, simply because it's the right thing to do.  But that standard has not been the one Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (particularly Sharpton) have been held to by those so bent out of shape here.  (Including Badger, but he's put me on ignore, so he'll not find out about this, and won't be able to respond to it.)
Hey Fuzzy don’t think anyone told you this but a key problem in your example is....JESSE JACKSON NEVER BECAME PRESIDENT! (Also fwi he did apologize so do sone simple research next time https://www.nytimes.com/1984/02/27/us/jackson-admits-saying-hymie-and-apologizes-at-a-synagogue.html) Do you not see the glaring issue in whatabouting something the president said with something a person who only got 21% of the primary vote 30+ years ago said when making the argument both sides are bad?

So condemn Jesse Jackson for his antisemitic comments, and his associations with Louis Farrakhan.  Jackson's still a relevant power broker in the here and now in the Democratic Party, and the same can be said for Sharpton.  Do it now; step up to the pump and condemn Jackson's statements.

There's a reason why you can't.

Because about the only people who care about Jackson or Farrakhan these days are Republicans desperate to use whataboutism to defend Trump?
