"So, uh, can I appoint my own staff? You know, have a proper staff?"
"No, you gotta keep that crazy person on staff. You know, Flynn's deputy."
"...."
"What?"
"I think I'll pass, thank you."

Harward says no to national security adviser role
http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/16/politics/harward-says-no-to-national-security-adviser-role/index.html

We need more of this. Trump needs to be pushed out of office however possible.

Didn't the so-called President say at his press conferenceextemporaneous performance art piece that he already had someone?

I hate to say it, but I'd rather have a competent government, even if it means Trump has a better chance at winning re-election.

I suggest Trump pick someone with views similar to his own.

The longer he can't find a pick, the more it will be in the news, and the worse it will hurt him.

This is never a good sign...

Either the person had no interest in working for a President like Trump or they never wanted the job, but Trump still tried to lure them.

In the first instance, it showcases a weak administration and in the second case an incompetent one!

Harward actually wanted the job but he had disputes with Trump on staffing.

Harward reportedly turned down the offer upon realizing he'd have to retain KT McFarland as Deputy Nat Sec Advisor.

Here's an excerpt from McFarland's Wiki page:

Why can't Trump be his own National Security Advisor? He's told everyone how awesome he is at length (quick study, good brain, etc), and it's not like he's spending any time at being President.

He'll deflect this with another controversy

Those are all premium candidates who are fit for the job, but I'm more partial to Alex Jones.

Kellogg could stay on. National Review wants Bolton. Mattis undoubtedly knows a bunch of highly competent retired generals without Petraeus' baggage or antithetical to Trump worldview.

It'll probably be Kellogg, it's easy to just bump him upstairs. I don't know much about him, but I got the (possibly incorrect) sense that he's Trump's guy rather than Flynn's
