Predict the outcome of a 2020 contest between Barack Obama and Donald Trump, if the 22nd amendment would only apply to consecutive terms and the Democrats nominate the former president again.

People would start being sick of Obama but still he would be better than trump and do better in the rust belt than clinton (but worse in the sun belt). There would be no young people annoyed than sanders didn't win because sanders would not run.

President Donald Trump/Vice President Mike Pence - 273 Electoral Votes
Fmr. President Barack Obama/Fmr. Senator Russ Feingold - 265 Electoral Votes

Former Vice President Biden declines to run for a third term or for the presidency, leaving Obama to pick Russ Feingold as his running mate. This is a very close race, with Virginia being the deciding factor. During the election, it leaned Obama's way until the last few weeks. On election night, Ohio, Iowa, Virginia, Florida, and ME-02 all go for Trump, getting him re-elected.

Trump is impeached two years later, causing him to resign in a Nixon-Esq fashion. President Pence goes on to receive a second term, barely defeating numerous candidates in the primaries, and President Pro-Tempore Elizabeth Warren. He is defeated in a landslide next election.

Geez, I put so much detail into that, I should just make it into a timeline.

It wouldn't be close. Obama has demonstrated, unlike Clinton, that he can and has carried working class whites in the Midwest and after a term of Trump, I assume most people would yearn for BHO. Trump has been involved in one election to date; Obama is a likable experienced Democratic pol who is generally seen favorably by most of the country.

Popular vote would be 52-45% Obama and 319-219 in the Electoral College.
