Saudi Arabia comment:

I am disgusted at the treatment these normal, law-abiding citizens are facing currently. 1 is an unacceptable number, 100,000 is beyond horrifying.
I call on the government to impose sanctions on Saudi Arabia.

BLAIR VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:

What we need in this great region is activity, as there is a distinct lack of it as of late.
I believe that my appointee can fix that.

I hereby appoint Sam Tilden to the Lincoln Assembly until the next general Assembly election, to be held on December 8.

Oh come on lok, you’re affectively stunting the work of the Assembly each time you do this. At least stop appointing people who will stop the work you keep complaining about not being fast or affective enough.

I’m sorry I’m going off on you but come on, that’s three Assemblymen vacating their seats for the same position.

HOLY MOLY at this rate I'm set to be the dean of the assembly once the next assembly is inaugurated!

I would like to issue an apology about my inactivity.

I have been having things going on IRL that have taken all of my attention from the game. But I am now back, and I hope this will not happen again without warning.

My first order of Business is having to choose a Lieutenant Governor. I formally appoint SamTilden to the position.

Technically, the governor does not sign/veto constitutional amendments — once passed by the Assembly, they are put to a public referendum.

The budget is currently in the process of being put together. This is long overdue, and extensions to the previous budget are due to expire soon.

I need to appoint someone to the Lincoln assembly to replace Tilden. What I was looking for was an active participant in Atlasia, who is well respected by people on all sides.

With those criteria in mind, I have decided to appoint Scott to the Lincoln Assembly, and call a special election to elect a new member, to be held on Friday, January 12th.

The vote was only to pass the amendment, not the actual bill. The assembly is still in debate over the bill.

Hey lok, heard you were appointing Scott an Assemblyman. That’s fine except he’s still in office. I’d like to ask you if you’ll follow Atlasia law and have him step down from his current office instead of letting him stay in two offices at once like some have criminally gotten away with before.

The Constitution of Atlasia specifically allows for the appointment of sitting officeholders to additional offices under the republic, so long as they are not elected to multiple offices which they then proceed to hold simultaneously. This principle was endorsed and adopted by the Constitutional Convention in 2016 and subsequently enshrined in precedent by both Federalists and Laborites. If you disagree with this practice, that is of course your right, but to call it "criminal" is simply inaccurate.

EDIT: Furthermore, Scott is not actually a delegate yet—he has been nominated, but not sworn the oath of office—so even if it were against the law to occupy two offices at once (it is not), no crime would have been committed simply by Lok nominating him for the position.

So, to all federalists, how about we sit down, calm down, and stop this which hunt that has been going on?

It’s not a witch hunt, we’re just trying to affectively play the game and uphold the rules.

It may be illegal, but it’s wrong to just appoint someone who already has their plate full as a Senator. There are plenty of new people who could’ve been appointed. I would also like to mention, the voters voted for a Federalist (Tilden) not a Laborite (Scott). Do what is best for our region, lok.

Lok, as a citizen of Lincoln, may I ask what the reasoning is for consistently choosing inactive Labor Party members (and more recently, a Labor Party member who is already holding a position at the Federal level) to replace some positions that were not held by Labor during your term?

While I understand the game is going through a slow patch, surely there could have been options to at least keep the positions as ideologically similar as they should have been, especially considering some of the positions were ones the people of our region voted on and chose that particular poster and their ideology? Not trying to point fingers or anything, but can't you see how that could easily be seen as you playing favorites and taking a very partisan stance, putting the Labor Party over the Lincoln Region?
