The GOP base hates legal immigrants the same reason it hates illegal ones. It is just more mainstream for politicians to scapegoat illegal ones than legal ones.

This. And their hate is based on identical reasons.

Yup, and some of us are willing admit it.

Oh no, Santander. You're not going to bait me with one of your trollish moods. You got to do better than that , man. Wink

Drums for a drink near our respective homes, or at least where I grew up, in the North Hills. Had a phone conversation with Torie. Muon and I have tried but missed each other. He still ranks probably near or at number one of all the people in the form I would love to chat with for an hour or two, though I fear he may not feel the same way after I have criticized some of his restrained modding policies. Sad

And, I'm eating xmeets the spot tomorrow for lunch. Smiley

48%

#RedWave + Kennedy Bump + the total electoral effect on various bumps included means the Republican is favored in this district and approximately 51067 other Congressional districts

2018's red wave is going to be so powerful that it'll flip Congressional districts in hundreds of alternate universe versions of America. These alt reality people have no idea what's going to hit them. They'll go to vote and just won't be able to shake this weird thought that they need to vote Republican to ensure a conservative supreme court.

My general rule of thumb is that if I cannot see Edmund Burke as a member of the Republican Party, than it is off track.

It is off track!

The Republicans have become a party of zealous radicals, dogmatic ideologues and thieves. Rationality, common sense, principles and values have been tossed to the wayside in the name of political expedience. This is a process that really began in the 1990's and has only accelerated to the point where we have state party's debasing the courts for partisan gain, become wholly dependent on gerrymandering, and have sacrificed the full faith and credit of the treasury so that special interests can be paid off monetarily.

I remember writing a paper in high school, and I couldn't find the Yiddish word knipschen in the dictionary.  It turned out I had it completely wrong.  It was of Latin origin and spelled conniption.

Absolutely!  Just like the revulsion to the ugly, alt-right racism of 4chan pushed voters to the Dems in 2016.  IMO, Dems need to have a serious "come to Jesus" moment with regard to these Tumblr extremists and their anime fan-art.

It's not the conservative party it used to be, it has instead embraced alt-right ideology, nativism, xenophobia, sexism, racism and protectionism. I consider the GOP a treat to democracy as we know it.

Agree!

It's worth noting Badger has a quote of himself trying to trigger MacKenzie as his signature. #Egomaniac.

I literally have zero idea what you are talking about.

This sentence looks like you grabbed a handful of those refrigerator magnets with words on them, then dropped them out of a window to form random phrases.

I think we've solved the mystery of "Covfefe".

I brought up white people's interests in a thread about how white people vote. I don't know how you're supposed to have a discussion about how white people vote without talking about the interests of white people.
The thing about talking about "white people's interests" is that they are not a historically disadvantaged group. When you talk about the "interests of white people", others are gonna think you're a white supremacist.

You can't say the same thing about the interests of women, African-Americans, or Hispanics, because they have historically faced challenges that white people have not.

I know this might sound unfair to you, but that is the common perception. I'm not calling you a white supremacist in any way here; I just want you to know what others will perceive you as if you say things like that.

To be fair, white people had ZERO representation in the position of US President from 2009-2017.  And as you should very well know, underrepresentation is passive violence.

Indeed, electing the first white president since George W. Bush was a great milestone for European-Americans everywhere - almost as great as the day white people were officially granted the right to drop the N-word while singing aloud to rap songs.  Some black guy I saw on Twitter said that's okay now.

Truly a history, and a legacy, worth preserving.

These last two years have been like all my dreams coming true before my eyes. I remember being totally outraged at the time over this. Trump may be the first person to totally share my criminal justice ideology. I really can't wait for Martha, Don and Rod.

You've dreamt of having a US President being under the control of the Russian dictator?

I've dreamt of living in Russian paradise since the American Dad did the alternate history where we didn't have to suffer through the Reagan regime and instead Mondale makes us Russian.

PEAK INTERNET

Democrats were a party the party of Karl Marx; however, during the time of the Whigs, there weren't any unions around, so they were the People's Party of Agriculture.

After 1900, Labor replaced the People's Party of Agriculture, and became the Progressive Party and input the income tax on the wealthy.

So, I use Secular and Socialist interchangeably.

All of this putting people on ignore is pretty silly.  Man up, people!

“Man up” is a sexist expression and you should be ashamed of yourself. On my ignore list you go, patriarchal pig.

"Pig" is a demeaning insult.  I'll ignore you too.

I've officially been triggered by both of your porcine-insensitive labeling. IGNORE!

Russia is a more democratic country than the US. Look at the % of the vote Trump got vs the % of the vote Putin got. Clearly Russia's system reflects the people's will better.
