Overall, I’d say you’re senate Results are quite realistic, with the exception of California. I don’t care who the Republicans nominate but they would never win a senate race in California. Feinstein would easily be able to tie Condy Rice to the disastrous foriegn policy of the bush administration, and this would cause her to win reelection. The best Condy could Realistically do is have a 55-45 defeat. If I were you, I’d change the result in California to a narrow Feinstein victory, because having California flip Republican makes your whole TL look really hackish (You already pushed the limit by having Rubio carry New Jersey, when in real life he would have carried Virginia Instead).

I don't think it's that hackish tbh. If you look at the month of November President Rubios Job Approval is still sitting at above 65% Nationally. That means the President has very likely a JA in the State of California at about 53-54 % and you do can win a Senate Seat as a Republican in Cali if the JA of your Partys President sits above 50% in Cali. I would have chosen Kevin Faulconer instead of Condi Rice as the Republican Senate Nominee though.

Anyways, California now been served by two African-American Women (Senator-elect Condoleeza Rice & Senator Kamala Harris) is pretty historic and maybe that's what UWS wants to do.

Also, keep that in mind: President Rubio robbed Congressional Democrats of their biggest Talking Point: Immigration Reform which passed the Senate 69-30 and the House 277-156 in May. That was the Death Kiss for some Democrats who voted against it namely Senators Baldwin, Stabenow and Feinstein otherwise they would have won.

Good Calculations made UWS, congrats. Neither GWB nor Obama managed to do Immigration Reform in Congress.

Election Night 2018, Part 6

CNN's America's Choice theme : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uvpd4myQXs

Wolf Blitzer : So Anderson, as we can see, the Republicans obtained a supermajority in the U.S. Senate with 67 senate seats over the Democrats' 33. In addition, they now have the biggest House Majority since World War II with 262 House seats over the Democrats' 173. And now 34 states out of 50 will be governed by Republican governors.

2018 Senate Electoral Map

Republicans : 67 seats (+ 11)
Democrats : 33 seats

2018 House Elections results
NH-01 : Andy Sanborn (R) defeats Carol-Shea Porter (D)
NY-03 : Jack Martins (R) defeats Thomas Suozzi (D)
NY-18 : Kenneth Del Vecchio (R) defeats Sean Patrick Maloney (D)
NJ-05 : Steve Lonegan (R) defeats Josh Gottheimer (D)
PA-05 : John Chrin (R) defeats Matt Cartwright (D)
IL-10 : Jeremy Wynes (R) defeats Brad Schneider (D)
IL-17 : Mark Kleine (R) defeats Cheri Bustos (D)
WI-03 : Steve Toft (R) defeats Ron Kind (D)
MN-01 : Steve Toft (R) defeats Timothy Walz (D)
MN-08 : Pete Stauber (R) defeats  Rick Nolan (D)
IA-02 : Mark Jacobs (R) defeats Dave Loebsack (D)
FL-27 : Carlos Gutierrez (R) defeats Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D)
AZ-01 : Steve Smith (R) defeats Tom O'Halleran (D)
AZ-09 (Vacant) : Hugh Hallman (R) defeats David Schapira (D)
NV-03 (Vacant) : Scott Hammond (R) defeats Jesse Sbaih (D)
NV-04 : Mike Monroe (R) defeats John Anzalone (D)
CA-16 : Scott Jones (R) defeats Ami Bera (D)
CA-16 : Johnny Tacherra (R) defeats Jim Costa (D)
CA-24 : Michael Erin Woody (R) defeats Salud Carbajal (D)

Popular vote - Republicans : 57 % Democrats : 41 %

House seats - Republicans : 262 seats (+ 15) Democrats : 173 seats

2018 Gubernatorial Electoral Map

Republicans : 34 seats (+ 3)
Democrats : 15 seats
Independent : 1 seat

Anderson Cooper : So that is a great victory for President Rubio. He is now less likely to need to use his veto power and thanks to this new supermajority for the Republicans, President Rubio further reinforced his ability to adopt and pass his policies and to fulfill his promises.

John King : So it will likely help him during the 2020 presidential election.

Anderson Cooper : Right. And this is also one of the rare times in modern history that the first midterm elections held during the first term of a U.S. President favored the President's party. And this is the widest senate majority in both houses of the Congress since the 1960s.

John King : Well as we all know, most of the senate seats that were defended by the Democrats in this election were in deep red states like West Virginia, Montana, North Dakota, Missouri and Indiana.

Wolf Blitzer : It must also be due to the fact that we are living a time of strong economic prosperity and declining terrorist threat due to the Rubio Administration's efforts to defeat terrorism.

John King : That's right. And if these positive results occured, it surely convinces the American people that the best must be yet to come.

Wolf Blitzer : So thank you ladies and gentlemen for watching the coverage of the 2018 mideterm elections and we wish you good night.

If Republicans are getting 67 seats in the Senate , the certainly should have 275-280 seats in the House.

At the rate this is going, Republicans could soon start passing Constitutional amendments along party lines.

Honestly, in a scenario where the GOP is winning Senate races in California and New Mexico, I'd expect them to hit 290 in the House. And while there's no indication here about state legislatures, if the governorships are any indication, the GOP could be on their way to controlling 3/4 of states by 2020.

Wtf, GOP doing so well during a GOP-Pres midterm. Did Rubio get another 9/11 to help??? lol

Well, the unemployment rate has been reduced to 3.6 % (which is the lowest rate in 50 years) so the economy is getting better, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is killed by the U.S. Armed Forces under President Rubio's watch, ISIS is eradicated in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and Egypt and it's soon to be the case in Syria so the terrorist threat is declining. That's notably what explains the GOP momentum.

Also, President Rubios Bipartisanship. If you look at his first two years virtually every major Issue/Topic that has passed Congress was bipartisan.

UWS,
Who will be the new Congressional Leaders for Democrats & Republicans? I'm assuming that Nancy Pelosi will step down Democratic Minority Leader after this loss.

Will President Rubio hold a Bipartisan Congressional Leaders Meeting like Presidents usually do after a MidTerm Election?

Just read the part about killing Al-Bagdadi. Makes me gag how cheesey it is! Really, copy verbatim the Bin Laden attack? Bin Laden's death was truly a major event that everyone celebrated. I can tell you, if we got Al-Bagdadi the reaction would be a minuscle fraction of the celebration in 2011. He aint a real public figure, most average folk dont know who he is.

Marco Rubio's Presidency
November 2018, Part 2

November 7 :

-President Rubio gave a speech at the White House about the results of the 2018 midterm elections that gave a supermajority for the Republican Party in both houses of the Congress. Here's what he declared in his speech :

In the last two years, we listened to the American people and understood their concerns. In the last two years, we brought America back in the right direction through the promotion of free enterprise and free market, through tax cuts for all the people, through our rapid transition to energy independence, through the promotion of free trade, through a reinforcement of our military, of our security measures and of our alliances, which allowed us to orchestrate an effective fight against radical Islamic terrorism, to defeat ISIS in Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Yemen, and North Africa, to find and kill Baghdadi and to take the advantage against North Korea and Iran in the context of their nuclear threats. So the American people was convinced that the best is yet to come and that they had to contribute into it. So we are thankful of your support. I want to congratulate all of the Republican and Democratic midterm candidates, whether they won or lost and whether or not they are from the same party. The American people gave us the mandate to pursue the economic, social and national security progress of the last two years. As a result, we will pass all the necessary laws to create jobs, to get America to full employment, to further reinforce our country's national unity, to defend our people's constitutional rights, to keep America safe and to get us to total victory against radical Islamic terrorism. President Marco Rubio's Veterans Day Speech in Arlington National Cemetery

Thank you all for coming. It's a great honor to be here with so many military veterans to celebrate a remarkable day in our history. Exactly 100 years ago today, the Armistice of 11 November 1918 ended World War I, one of the deadliest conflicts in history marked by the emergence of a new face of the art of war, especially the entrenchements and tanks. The United States' entrance into that conflict gave us and our allies the advantage against the forces of the Triple Alliance in Europe, which helped us, thanks to the bravery, courage and determination of our troops, to free the European continent from tyranny and terror. The consequences of that war eventually contributed to the start of World War II due to the effects of the Great Depression and to a rise of anger and extremism. Millions of Jews were killed and the Third Reich has imposed its terror and opression continent. But we and our allies didn't give up and we fought back. Thanks to our troops' bravery and collaboration with our allies, we defeated Hitler's troops from all sides of their territory until we obtained the final victory before rebuilding Europe during a time of uncertainty that marked the beginning of the Cold War during which a nuclear war with the USSR could have occured at any moment and during which we fought the enemies of freedom in Korea and Vietnam. And throughout the ten years following 9/11, we and our allies fought back and took military action against Al Qaeda as well as against supporters of terrorism and killed Osama Bin Laden.

We are thankful and deeply proud of the courage, patriotism and service of our men and women in uniform to our country. That's why my Administration took considerable measures to improve our veterans' living conditions by adopting the Veterans Care Financial Protection Act that made the federal Department of Veterans Affairs work with state and federal agencies to stop con men who were diverting federal aid away from veterans. We need to care more about veterans than bureaucrats. So future military veterans will have access to the same services as the current veterans do

Today still have challenges facing our country, but in the last years we remarkably demonstrated our ability to overcome these challenges. By increasing our defense budget, we reinforced our military as well as our arsenal and our troops' readiness. By strengthening our alliances and by striking terrorists whever they are through the use of military force in Syria and Iraq, by arming the right groups in the Middle East through back ground checks and by recapturing ISIS' oil refineries, our brave men and women in uniform eradicated ISIS in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Egypt and they found and killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS. We still have work to do in order to totally defeat ISIS and other terrorist groups but by keeping the great work we are making and by standing with our allies, we will get there and obtain total victory against radical Islamic terrorism. By standing with our allies around the Pacific, by increasing pressure against North Korea and by reinforcing our military presence in the Pacific, our troops and our allies will defeat North Korea's nuclear threat. So by keeping our military strong, by supporting our allies and by going after terrorists, we will finally get America and the whole world to permanent freedom, security, stability and peace through strength.

Thank you. God bless our veterans and God bless the United States of America.

-The democratization of Venezuela caused by the end of the Chavez/Maduro dictatorship and by Leopoldo Lopez's election at the presidency of Venezuela encouraged pro-democracy activists in Cuba to launch protests against the communist regime led by dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel. These protests are also caused by high unemployment, food inflation, corruption, a lack of political freedoms like freedom of speech, and poor living conditions. The demonstrations started in Havana where 10 000 civilians walked across the streets in order to reclaim freedom, democracy, regime change and more social justice. But the Cuban authorities intervened in a clash during which 31 civilians were killed 400 other were arrested.

December 3 :

-As expected, due to the fact that Toronto was the only foreign city to compete for the ownership of the second headquarters of Amazon, the American electronic commerce and cloud computing company announced that its second headquarters will be established in the United States, precisely in the city of Atlanta. These results are mostly due to the fact that America is now the best place in the world to do business thanks to the Rubio Administration's tax cuts policies that reduced the corporate tax rate at the lowest rate in the industrialized world. President Rubio praises Amazon's announcement, describing it as good news for the U.S. economy and job creation.

December 4 :

Through cooperation with the European Union, the DETER Act threatens to blacklist senior Russian politicians and oligarchs, while imposing heavy sanctions on major sectors of the country’s economy. The Senate will vote on it on December 13 and the House on December 20.

December 7 :
-The House of Representatives approves a measure aimed at declaring America's solidarity with the Cuban people in the context of the rising political activism in favor of democracy there. December 8 :

-The House of Representatives votes 265-167 for the Secure Act introduced by Mike Crapo to renew the NSA's Internet surveillance program in order to combat terrorism. The bill is signed into law by President Rubio, thus reauthorizing the Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act that gathers information from foreigners overseas and empowers the NSA to eavesdrop on vast amounts of digital communications via American companies like Facebook Inc, Verizon Communications Inc and Alphabet Inc’s Google.

December 9 :
-Senate hearings on Jennifer Carrol's nomination for U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela started.

December 10 :

This plan would also allow oil drilling in ANWR and authorize the construction of a transcontinental pipeline from Prudhoe Bay in northern Alaska to Houston, Texas. Secretary of Energy Harold Hamm argued that this plan will reinforce job creation in America while getting the United States to energy independence and making them the strongest energy superpower. All of the elements of this plan are included in Montana Senator Steve Daines' Energy Power Act that has to pass the Senate on December 18 and the House on December 22.

December 13 :
-The Senate unanimously approves the DETER Act.

The Democratic Presidential Nomination starts bascially now. The Democratic Party moved too far to the left, got too much influenced by the Bernie Sanders folks. They lost the Centrists all over the place during the 2018 MidTerms.

You can expect that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer will continue to help President Rubio where he can and sack the liberal Sanders Wing of the Democratic Party.

Nevertheless I expect Sanders, Warren and Gillibrand to run and neither will have a chance against Rubio.

Prediction: The heavy-hitters of the Democrats won't run, and they'll nominate a sacrificial lamb to lose to Rubio.

Question: How has former Rubio opponent Hillary Clinton viewed Rubio's presidency? She strikes me as the type to admit when her former opponent is doing something right, (pretty much only with regards to Rubio's foreign policy but still I'm curious)

That may very well be Sanders as 2020 would be the last possible chance he has of running for President so he may be one of the heavy hitters to run . This also benefits the Democratic Establishment as well , as if Sanders loses in a landslide in 2020 they can come back in 2024 and say that is why we shouldnt nominate populists as our nominees.

>67 Republican Senate seats

what a dystopia.

Even worse than our time line.

I would much rather have Trump as president than 67 Republican senators.
