We have a complete fractured Democratic Party. Sanders won this Nomination because White Trump Voters from 2016 supported him. Will they support him in the General? Highly unlikely.

July 18 :

-President Rubio campaigns in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he slams Bernie Sanders on his big government agenda including higher taxes on hard-working Americans and businesses while praising the effects of his tax cuts and regulation cuts that reinforced the American people's purchasing power, made America the best place in the world to do business and helped creating almost 12 million new jobs in the last 4 years.

July 19 :

-Due to Bernie Sanders' nomination and to President Rubio's re-election campaign's efforts to attract mainstream Democratic voters with the formation of the Super PAC named Democrats for Rubio, the effectiveness of these efforts are proven to be successful due to Sanders' anti-free trade views, past opposition to immigration reform and soft foreign policy agenda. Among the Democrats announcing their endorsement to President Rubio, there is, notably, his fellow Cuban-American New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf (due to his support to lower corporate taxes and property taxes and to his position in favor of taking advantage of the Marcellus Shale) and former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee.

July 20-23 :

-The Republicans hold the 2020 Republican National Convention at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada where President Rubio accepts his party's re-nomination for President of the United States and where Vice-President Haley accepts her party's re-nomination for Vice-President of the United States. The Republicans praised the President's accomplishments such as strong job creation through small government and lower taxes as well promotion of free trade and energy independence as well as his strong foreign policy  that reduced the terrorist threat and kept America safe while hammering Bernie Sanders on his big government agenda, his « weak foreign policy », his record and his « flip-flopping positions ».


July 24 :

-President Rubio arrives in Tokyo, Japan along with several foreign leaders to assist the opening ceremony of the 2020 Summer Olympics.

July 25 :

-In the context of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, 23 year-old American Olympic competitive swimmer Katie Ledecky wins a new gold medal during the women's 400-meter freestyle, beating the British female swimmer Jazmin Carlin who gets a silver medal and the Australian Alicia Coutts who gets the bronze medal. President Rubio congratulates Ledecky in person.

July 26 :

-President Rubio and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe meet each other in Tokyo, Japan where they praised each other's leaderships in terms of international security and defense against the North Korean nuclear threat (including the formation of the US-Japanese Cybersecurity Unit to counter North Korean cyber-attacks) and in terms of free trade. Abe praised President Rubio's leadership to establish new drone bases in Australia in order to combat the terrorist organization of Abu Sayyaf for the sake of security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.

July 27 :
-Traveling in Melbourne, Australia, President Rubio meets with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull with whom he holds a bilateral press conference during which the two leaders praised the effects of the formation of the intelligence partnership between the U.S. and Australia through the recent establishment of new U.S. drone bases in Australia to fight Abu Sayyaf.

July 28 :

-After imposing a formidable challenge to Jamaican athletics champion Usain Bolt 4 years ago in Rio de Janeiro, 25 year-old Canadian athlete Andre De Grasse and 2016 runner-up became the new athletics champion and even the « new king of athletics » after arriving first, beating the Kenyan David Rudisha, the Turkish Yasmani Copello and the Spanish Orlando Ortega, thus winning the gold medal while Rudisha wins the silver medal and Copello won the bronze medal.

July 29 :

-President Rubio  campaigns in Oregon where he slams Bernie Sanders on his 2017 vote against sanctions against North Korea despite the seriousness of North Korea's nuclear threat, declaring that Sanders has not the foreign policy knowledge and judgment to keep America safe and to get the world to a non-nuclear North Korea.

Thank you my fellow conservatives, my fellow Republicans and my fellow Americans. It's a great honor for me, as Governor of Nevada, to see the wonderful city of Las Vegas hosting the Republican National Convention. As we all know and as President Marco Rubio adopted as his campaign slogan, this election is about keeping America strong. That is exactly what President Rubio did in the last four years and that's what he will keep doing in the next four years.

Keeping America strong requires fighting for its freedom, liberty and values. You know why? Because America is worth fighting for. That's why President Rubio successfully fought with determination to defend freedom of religion and to defend the Second Amendment by allowing the Attorney General to block the transfer of firearms to suspected terrorists and suspected criminals, thus reducing shootings in this country while defending the right to self-defense. We can be proud to have a bi-partisan President who has the courage to put partisanship aside and to bring Republicans and Democrats together in order to get things done.

America is worth fighting for not only on the constitutional front but also on the economic front. Before Marco Rubio came in office, 80 % of Nevada's territory was controlled by the federal government, which drastically restricted liberty as well as opportunities to prosper. But all of that has changed when President Rubio came in office and adopted creative policies that reduced the size of government, cut taxes for all Americans, reduced our corporate tax rate from 40 % to 15 % and reduced the cost of doing business in America, thus making America the best place in the world to do business and thus bringing massive job creation thanks to the promotion of free enterprise and free market.

America is worth fighting for and that's why I proudly served our country as Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during the Iraq War in order to combat terrorism and tyranny for the sake of America's national security and freedom. And that's why President Rubio did everything it takes to keep America safe and free against terrorism and opression, including a reinforcement of our military, support to our troops and to our allies, expansion of our alliances and military action against ISIS that is about to lead us to final victory against radical Islamic terrorism and to permanent security and freedom.

America's freedom is worth fighting for and Bernie Sanders does not understand what it takes to do so. His big government agenda will drastically increase taxes and regulations on hard-working Americans and hard-working families as well as on businesses, which will decrease the American people's purchasing power, increase poverty, increase the deficit, restrict trade, kill American jobs and ship American companies overseas. All of that goes with a restriction of free enterprise and so with a restriction of free trade. No wonder that Bernie Sanders does not believe in capitalism.

Bernie Sanders' weak foreign policy includes drastic cuts in America's defense budget, reduce the size of our military as well as our military power and aweaken American leadership, which will undermine our allies' trust towards us, allow North Korea to launch a nuclear war and allow terrorists to launch further terrorist attacks against us and our allies and to reinforce their terror.

So my friends, Bernie Sanders' agenda is not the right answer for America. But in the last four years, President Rubio's leadership has proven over and over again to be the right answer for this great and beautiful country so that is clearly the path we need to follow in the next four years through the promotion of free enterprise, free market and tax reform for the sake of full-employment and through the promotion of strong American leadership by keeping our military and our alliances strong for the sake of our victory against terrorism and for the sake of permanent security and freedom. So that's why I call on you, my friends, to mobilize at the greatest possible to re-elect President Marco Rubio in order to keep America strong through stronger national security and stronger prosperity, both elements that restored the American Dream and finally restored America's status as the land of opportunity where everything is possible.

Thank you. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and for giving me the priviledge to adress this convention. I am R. Carey Davis, Mayor of San Bernardino that is none other than the city that was attacked by ISIS on December 2015 when 14 people were killed by these barbarians and when our freedom and our values were under siege. I remember this day as if it was yesterday. Several families lost their loved ones. ISIS attacked us for the values we believe in such as freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of religion and gender equity. Let's honor the memory of the victims of this terrorist attack in San Bernardino. After these attacks, we the people made it absolutely clear that we will never surrender to terror, tyranny and barbarism, that we will fight back until we totally eliminate the global terrorist threat.

We can't afford more terrorist attacks like the one that occured in San Bernardino. And the Democrats don't have the right plan and understanding to make sure we'll prevent such disasters. They still believe that it's because of a so-called « flood of guns ». They're wrong. This tragedy is caused by radical Islamic terrorism. And yet the Democrats, including Bernie Sanders, are afraid to use the terms « radical Islamic terrorism » to define this threat, fearing to be politically incorrect.

In addition, Senator Sanders seeks to diminish our military power by imposing massive cuts in our military, which will bring our military back at its smallest size since World War I, which will hand a massive victory to ISIS by allowing them to recover, to kill innocent people around the world and to threat America's precious values.

Bernie Sanders seeks to cut in our homeland security. But he does not understand that the reason why these terrorist attacks in San Bernardino happened is because of the because our security measures were weakened, because we did not have access to records, information and other items under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act that would have allowed us to identify these killers before they attacked. Senator Sanders' national security plan will move us backwards.

But fortunately, in the last four years, we made strong progress in our fight against ISIS thanks to President Rubio's strong foreign policy expertise and leadership that strengthened our homeland security, expanded our alliances, armed the right groups in the Middle East through background checks on them, reinforced and modernized our military by investing all the necessary budget to keep America's status as the strongest military power in the world. As President Rubio said, peace is only possible when America has the most powerful military in the world.

As a result, our military action against ISIS in Syria and Iraq freed all the territory occupied by this terrorist organization, we deprived terrorists of their sources of supply by taking on their oil refineries, we killed several of their officers and we eliminated ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Justice is done for all the victims of his terror!

By restoring diplomatic and economic sanctions against Iran, we deprived terrorists of any arm or financing supply from the biggest sponsor of global terrorism. And by standing with our allies through the provision of all the necessary intelligence support, military materials and military training to our allies, we also eliminated ISIS in Afghanistan, in Pakistan, in the Arabian Peninsula and in North Africa. As a result, President Rubio succeeded to keep us safe against the terrorist threat, thus saving several innocent lives around the world, including here in America, and defending our freedom and our democracy against opression and barbarism. I infinitely thank God that Marco Rubio is our President.

Our duty to lead America and the whole world to final, decisive, unconditional and total victory against radical Islamic terrorism is almost completed. Thanks to the massive progress made in the last four years and thanks to a strong military, strong alliances, strong diplomacy and strong leadership, President Marco Rubio will finally get us there and defeat radical Islamic terrorism and bring the whole world to permanent security and peace through strength. It has always been an honor for me to serve this great country called America, whether it's as a military pilot in Vietnam, as a Congressman or as a Senator.

Right now, I am so proud to see that America is safer now more than ever before and is finally on the right track for peace.

Marco Rubio has proven himself to have the right foreign policy judgment and leadership to serve as Commander-in-Chief. He managed to make sure we prevent further terrorist attacks against us and our allies by restoring American leadership. President Rubio reinforced and modernized our military through higher defense budget in order to ensure our troops' readiness and to make sure America keeps its status as the strongest military power in the world. As a result, in addition of reinforcing and expanding our alliances around the world, his leadership succeeded in putting terrorists on defense through military action, along with our allies, against ISIS in Syria and Iraq, and through background checks on Syrian rebels before arming them. Our brave troops recaptured all of the territory that ISIS occupied in Syria and Iraq and eliminated Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

By convincing India and Pakistan that they have a common enemy, which is radical Islamic terrorism, President Rubio and Vice-President Haley managed to ease tensions in this region and to get India to join us militarily in our fight against radical Islamic terrorism in Afghanistan. As a result, thanks to the combinaion of the military arsenals of the first and fourth military powers in the world, we totally eliminated the Taliban, Al Qaida and ISIS in Afghanistan and Pakistan and recently we foundAyman al-Sawahiri and killed him. And by finishing our job to reconstruct Afghanistan and to train their troops, we will finally restore peace, stability, integrity and stability in this country after more than 4 decades of conflict and unstability. We are finally going to end the longest war in which the United States have ever been involved in its history. Our troops are finally coming home.

By standing with our allies in the Eastern Europe and by providing Ukraine all the necessary military training and military arsenal , we managed to stop Vladimir Putin's agression in this region, to defeat this pro-Russian terrorist insurgency and we gave Crimea back to Ukraine. By reinforcing our military presence on the Pacific, establishing an anti-missile shield there, putting in place all the necessary sanctions against North Korea and against its international firms serving as financial intermediaries and by sanctioning any crude oil provision to North Korea in order to  weaken their military, we are finally taking advantage against North Korea and we will prevent any nuclear war.

As you know, throughout my political career, I earned the reputation of a maverick and a straight talker and I worked with Democrats to get things done  and stuck to my positions even if that would hurt me politically. Now I know that some other politicians, including Bernie Sanders, are acting in their self-interest and changed their positions in order to win an election. In 1991, when Saddam Hussein occupied Kuwait, possessed weapons of mass destruction and stood poised to dominate the Persian Gulf, Bernie Sanders voted against Operation Desert Storm.

And yet 7 years later, he supported the Iraqi Liberation Act of 1998, a U.S. Congressional statement of policy stating that "it should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove the regime headed by Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq."  And then in 2002, he once again shifted his position on Iraq by opposing the Iraq War despite the fact that Saddam Hussein gave sancturay to some of the worst radical Islamic terrorists, including Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad terrorist who was involved in the millennium plot, a terrorist attempt to commit bombing attacks against tourist sites in Jordan as well as against the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the USS The Sullivans in the context of millennium celebrations, after which he trained jihadists in Pakistan and Afghanistan before we eliminated him a few years later.

While he declared that the only way to prevent a nuclear war is to stop North Korea's nuclear weapons program, Senator Sanders opposed the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act that was aimed at depriving North Korea of the necessary capitals and material to develop nuclear weapons.

While claiming to be pro-Israel and while co-sponsoring, 12 years ago, a Senate Resolution reaffirming Israel's right to defend itself against terror, he has said, 3 years ago, during an interview with the left-wing website The Intercept that he would, and I quote, « consider cutting U.S. military aid to Israel » despite the fact that our support to Israel made great contributions in reinforcing security in the Middle East and to eradicate ISIS in Egypt.

Four years ago, during his campaign for the Democratic nomination in 2016, Senator Sanders opposed NATO expansion, arguing that it's a waste of taxpayer dollars and that it would result to provocation of tensions between NATO and Russia. And yet, on March 2017, as he was calculating his second run for the presidency, he supported, as I did, Montenegro's ascension as NATO member. So once again, he shifted his position.

At this rate, with 103 days before Election Day, he still has time to change his position 5, 6 or 7 times. But this is not the right way to earn the trust of voters. This is not the right way to earn the trust of our allies. This is not the right way to lead our nation and keep it safe. Marco Rubio is the only candidate in this race who has proven himself to be consistent on his positions, including when it comes to national security and foreign policy, and that's exactly how he managed to reinforce our relations with our allies, to keep America safe, to fight radical Islamic terrorism, which is a fight that we have no choice but to win.

As a foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution, I am proud that President Rubio, just like President Reagan did before, is leading us to decisive and total victory against our enemies and to reinforce America's status as a Shining City on a Hill. And I am proud to have supported him as well as every single of his policies aimed at defeating terrorism, keeping our country safe, getting the world to a non-nuclear Iran, defeating North Korea's nuclear threat and restoring territorial integrity around the world. And I am proud to support him in this election and I call on you to do the same because if you do, President Rubio and Vice-President Haley will accomplish our nation's duty to lead us to total victory against terrorism, to defend our values and our freedom and to get America and the whole world to permanent peace through strength.

Marco Rubio kept his promise to be President for all Americans, whether you are conservative, liberal or independent. He did it for the sake of America's future by putting partisanship aside and bringing Republicans and Democrats together to find common grounds in order to work together and pass policies based on common sense for the sake of the American people.

You know why? Because President Rubio knows that despite our differences and disagreements with other parties, we are all Americans and we all have the same goals, which are making the American Dream possible for all Americans, defending our God-given rights and restoring global peace.

As a result, we brought effective and successful leadership in Washington in both the White House and Congress. And that's how we passed much more bills than ever before. While the Democrats were skeptical about arming the Syrian rebellion since some of these rebels were actually fighting for ISIS, President Rubio adopted a policy establishing background checks on Syrian rebels before arming them, thus we armed the right groups in the Middle East, increased the number of anti-terrorist forces and managed to defeat ISIS in Iraq and almost in Syria.

In order to accelerate our path to victory in Afghanistan, President Rubio brought both parties together to temporarily reduce military aid to Pakistan, thus convincing Pakistan to do more to fight terrorism and getting India to deploy troops in Afghanistan, which helped us to deliver the final blow to radical Islamic terrorism in this region and to restore peace, freedom and stability after almost 20 years of fight against jihadism.

On the gun issue, President Rubio managed to reduce gun violence in this country while defending the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States by allowing the Attorney General to block the transfer of firearms to suspected terrorists and suspected criminals.

He is the first President ever to succeed to reform our immigration system thanks to the passage of the Opportunity Act two years ago. This bill gave access to U.S. citizenship for immigrants who pay fines and demonstrate an understanding of English while establishing additional border patrol stations and forward operating bases in the Southwest border region. As a result, we demonstrated that we are a country open to immigration and diversity and it also increased our workforce, encouraged job creation and restored the American Dream.

Thanks to his leadership, we took advantage of our own sources of energies by approving the construction of pipelines, doubling oil exploitation permits and liscenses on federal lands and promoting clean coal technologies, which not only brought massive job creation but also got us to energy independence and allowed us to get the necessary revenues which a part are invested into the development of rnewavle energies to create jobs and to improve our ecological footprint.

In an effort to avoid job losses while reinforcing America's competitiveness in the world economy, President Rubio cut taxes on manufacturing businesses and reduced our corporate tax rate from 40 % to 15 % which made America the most opened country for business and free enterprise, helped us to bring manufacturing jobs back home and helped us to ratify free trade deals with Europe, Latin America and India. These new free trade agreements contributed to the creation of 2 million jobs here in the United States thanks to lower tariffs and lower costs for American products. The right way to create jobs is not to rip our trade deals like Bernie Sanders is suggesting but t make America the best place in the world to do business and that's exactly what we did under President Rubio's leadership.

In this election, President Rubio is now facing an opponent who is none other than a partisan hack for whom it's all or nothing. Bernie Sanders opposed most of these policies that brought the American people together, so he has proven to be unable to demonstrate any capacity or willingness to promote bipartisanship as he seeks to abolish free trade deals, which will raise tariffs and kill American jobs, to assault our energy industry through higher taxes on the fossil industry, to increase the size of government and increase job-killing taxes and regulations on hard working Americans and businesses and to reduce our defense budget, which allow terrorists to rise again and represent a permanent threat to our country and our allies.

Marco Rubio's biartisanship reinforced our prosperity and our national security and will keep doing so in the next four years.

As we are about to balance the budget, President Rubio will, in a second term, use a part of future budget surpluses to invest into the development of new infrastructures in this country in order to further facilitate economic activities as well as the implementation of new businesses in America. Another part of future budget surpluses will also be invested into the modernization of our military in order to keep our nation strong and safe and to defeat any national security threat. We'll also use a part of future budget surpluses into the establishment of new job training programs for veterans to make sure they'll get the jobs and services they need after their military career. These are all goals Republicans and Democrats are sharing and so I call on you, my fellow Americans to rally behind President Rubio and he will keep reinforcing our Union thanks to bipartisan policies that will strengthen the American Dream as well as liberty, bring us to full-employment, to victory against terrorism and our other foes and to permanent peace through strength.

Thank you, Las Vegas. I'm here to tell you that in these times of challenges, we need proven leadership that reinforced our security in the last four years.

During that period of time, we clearly demonstrated that we learned the lessons of the past, of the terrorist attacks of September 11 2001, the worst attacks we suffered in our nation's history. But under my leadership as Mayor of New York, we made this city one of the safest large cities in America and I am proud to be serving as President Marco Rubio's Secretary of Homeland Security. Thanks to his leadership, we managed to prevent any new 9/11 and there has not been a single successful terrorist attack against our country.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

Here's how we got there. We reinforced our security measures, increased the FBI's counter-terrorism budget and allowed the Attorney General to block the transfer of firearms to suspected terrorists and suspected criminals while defending the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.

After Boko Haram attempted to take control of Niger's abundant uranium to get weapons of mass destruction, we created the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office to counter any attempt by terrorists or other threat actors to carry out an attack against the United States or its interests using a weapon of mass destruction by supporting operational partners in closing capability gaps along adversary pathways and by investing and developping innovative technologies to meet partner requirements and improve operations. We also reinforced the use of the share of biometric collection data, which helped us to fight terrorism and to find and eliminate Ayman al-Zawahiri, Al Qaida leader and major perpetrator of the 9/11 attacks.

What Bernie Sanders does not understand is that our surveillance policies are defending the American people's freedom and values since the terrorists are threatening these values, including freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of press and gender equity. Tearing down those policies as well as our military like Senator Sanders is suggesting would be a terrible mistake.

He has no idea of what it takes to keep America safe. No wonder that he has no foreign policy experience. Bernie Sanders has said that we should not be afraid to say the word « socialism ». Well, then he should also understand that we must not be afraid to describe the enemy like it is : radical Islamic terrorism.

By defining them properly, we were able to distinguish them from good Muslims and we targeted the right individuals. President Rubio managed to form a great coalition with our allies, including those in nations of Muslim faith such as Egypt, the Jordanian kingdom, the Gulf kingdoms, Nigeria. And by providing our allies all the necessary military support, military training and intelligence support and by arming them with arsenal from the strongest military power in the world, we helped them to eradicate ISIS in Egypt, in the Arabian peninsula, in North Africa, in Nigeria and in Somalia.

A few years ago, Bernie Sanders has shown his pessimism when it comes to Afghanistan because of the length, cost and casualties in the fight against terrorism we are leading there. In fact, he called the War in Afghanistan « unwinnable ».

Well, if Senator Sanders really believes this war was unwinnable, what was he suggesting? That we should let the Taliban win? That we should let Al Qaida win? That we should let ISIS win? That we should let the terrorists win?

[Crowd boos]

America's defeat is not an option. It would allow terrorists to rise again and to conduct terrorist attacks against us and our allies. But by reducing our annual aid to Pakistan, President Rubio successfully convinced Pakistan to stop sponsoring terrorist groups and to fully side with us in the War on Terror and got India to intervene militarily in Afghanistan to fight terrorism along with our troops. By combining the forces of the 1st and 4th military powers in the world, we totally eliminated radical Islamic terrorism in Afghanistan and Pakistan after 2 decades of fight and we are finishing our job to rebuild and restabilize Afghanistan and to train Afghan troops in order to make sure they will be able to defend their country against any ennemy. So in one of the biggest foreign policy challenges facing our nation, President Rubio got it right and Bernie Sanders got it wrong.

We restored peace, security, freedom, stability and justice in Afghanistan. We won the War in Afghanistan. Our men and women in uniform are coming home.

Bystrengthening and modernizing our military, by expanding our alliance, by arming the right groups in the Middle East through background checks on them and by striking terrorists' positions, we swept all of ISIS' territory in Syria and Iraq, we killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and we got the world close to ISIS' total anihilation.

There is still work to do in order to get us to final  victory against terrorism and thanks President Rubio's proven leadership, we will accomplish this. He will do so by by keeping all the necessary diplomatic and economic pressure on any state-sponsor of terrorism, by keeping our military and our alliances strong, by modernizing our military thanks to the investment of a part of future budget surpluses into it and by striking terrorists wherever they are. Victory is imminent and that's why we need to re-elect President Rubio for a strong, safe, free and victorious America thanks to peace through strength.

I was fortunate enough in life to be born from a patriotic family. Taught me to love this country and people who make her up unconditionally. To die for any woman and to fight beside any man without hesitation or hopes of individual achievement. That's the way I was raised and the way I still walk my life. For generations, the men and women in my family have served this country proudly, both at home and abroad. My father served in Vietnam. And although he was shamed out of his uniform, it only solidified his resolve to raise his boys, me and my twin brother, to be patriotic and love this country and its people more than we loved ourselves.

The past ten years of my Navy SEAL career, first ten was in combat. Next part of it I was traveling around the country, state to state, city to city, town to town. Armed only with the memories of your bravest fighters and the story of how hard they fought to protect our way of life. And because I was willing to completely open up my life and speak about the worst week of it, I was blessed with meeting and seeing one of the greatest people America has to offer. I think it's important to say that we have to make sure that the hell the veterans return from is not the hell they come home to.

That's what was promised and that's what's deserved, period. It also speaks volume about my generation and how I love my generation. Generation X, the X men. It was wonderful to fight alongside of you.

The citizens step up, start foundations and programs to help the wounded and families of the fallen. So, from the bottom of my heart and, literally, please know I end every day on my knees for thanking God for y'all and what you do and how you cut it. My generation of veterans coming home.

Those of you who know me, I only talk about stuff that I experienced. Usually on the worst side of it and the best side of it. I had a chance to spend time with President Rubio. I know he understands what it takes to fix this. The only way we're going to keep America safe is have an elite military.

Made up of the warriors and prepared by the toughest training that we have to offer, supported by the best equipment and backed up by the nation, to put those people in the harm's way. Every one of us has to step up in some way. I am proud to see that need our leaders are leading by example and are showing the American public that each and every life under the flag should be considered family and treated accordingly. That's why President Rubio reformed our Veterans system and made sure that irresponsible bureaucrats will be held accountable. He also signed, 3 years ago, a bill to make the federal Department of Veterans Affairs work with state and federal agencies to stop con men who are diverting federal aid away from veterans. Marco Rubio even ratified a veterans' education bill to provide college assistance for military veterans and increase these payments if they complete science, technology and engineering courses.

In his second term, President Rubio will use a part of future budget surpluses to invest into the development of new job training programs for our veterans in order to give them the jobs they need in their post-military career. And it's in order to make that happen that I support President Rubio and that I'm running for Congress.

Those of us in here, we're all family. And we back them up, too, and we hold them accountable for every position and office that they hold. The only way we survive this is together, not apart. In order for any life to matter, we all have to matter. To my generation, that was for y'all. To the next generation, this is for you. Your war is here. You don't have to go searching for it. Your people are afraid. I stand among you, walking. I was allowed to walk with giants, all right? Now we're looking for the next generation of giants. Who among you will love something more than you love yourself?  Who among you are going to step up and take the fight to the enemy? Because it's here! We must fight for this country and for each and every one of us. In these dark times of increasingly dangerous world through growing terrorist threat, America is the light and will always be worth fighting for and it was my greatest honor to fight for this country every day of my adult life.

As you know, the last four years are marked by a strong reinforcement of America's greatness and power just like we saw it three decades ago.

I am proud to have served as Secretary of the Navy under Ronald Reagan and to have made strong contributions to our victory in the Cold War and to a stronger global security and freedom.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

History has taught us several lessons that helped us to overcome our challenges. In 1979, our ambassadors in Iran were killed and held hostages by radical extremists who vowed to destroy us. Our economy was weakening and the Soviet Union was gaining in power and was taking the advantage over the U.S. in the Cold War. But thanks to Ronald Reagan's strong foreign policy, we reversed that tendency with the creation of a 600-ship Navy, with the establishment of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) in order to counter any missile attack against us and our allies and with the signature of the Intermediate P-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty that resulted to a drastic reduction of Soviet missiles and led us to stronger peace and stability and to the end of the Cold War.

In the last few years, Vladimir Putin has proven to be an enemy of global peace, stability and freedom, invaded Ukraine, annexed Crimea and even increased Russia's increased its missile sales to Iran in addition of exporting uranium to this same nation that is none other than the world's largest state sponsor of global terrorism and seeks to get nuclear weapons to launch nuclear attacks against nations like Israel. But President Rubio stood with our allies and provided all the necessary military training, support and material as well as all the necessary intelligence support to  Ukraine, thus helping them to defeat this pro-Russian insurgency supported by Moscow, to reclaim Crimea and to defeat Putin's agression in Eastern Europe. We also did that by reinforcing our alliances in Europe and in the Middle East, by imposing all the necessary economic and diplomatic pressure through sanctions and by condemning Vladimir Putin as exactly what he is : a state sponsor of terrorism.

As a result, we are taking advantage over Russia and we brought the world much closer to international peace and stability.

In this election, as usual, America has a choice. Either we keep moving forward for the sake of America's victory against terrorism and our other geopolitical foes or we move backwards with Bernie Sanders' weak foreign policy that will undermine our military power, abandon our allies, allow Iran to get nuclear weapons and contribute to a revival of the terrorist threat.

Bernie Sanders opposed the Strategic Defense Initiative despite the fact that it was crucial to winning the Cold War and he even called for its elimination as well as for the elimination of B-2 bombers.

Time and time again, he voted against giving law enforcement the tools they need to help stop international terror, against supporting our troops in the Middle East and against providing them the necessary material to combat terrorism.

President Rubio is by far the presidential candidate in this race who has the best foreign policy experience to keep America safe and strong. He had the courage to do whatever it takes to defeat radical Islamic terrorism and to keep America safe and he did that by drastically increasing our defense budget in order to make sure we have all the necessar effectives and arsenal as well as all the necessary military readiness to defeat terrorism. He also did that by strengthening our alliances, by cutting successful arms deal with our allies and by striking terrorists wherever they are, and thus our troops eliminated ISIS in Iraq like we are about to do in Syria, we defeated terrorism in Afghanistan as well as in North Africa and in the Arabian peninsula. And most importantly, President Rubio's leadership led us to a major victory in our fight against terrorism : our troops found and eliminated Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS.

Thanks to increased sanctions, President Rubio is making the United Nations' goal to get the world to a non-nuclear Iran successful and we are making sure that Iran will use its nuclear energy for economic purposes, not military purposes.

Through the revival of our navy,the reinforcement of our military presence on the Pacific Ocean, the establishment of an anti-missile shield on the Pacific, the creation of the Pacific Treaty Organization, sanctions against North Korea and its financial transactorsaround the world and the elimination of any crude oil supply, Marco Rubio helped us to avoid any nuclear war in the Asia-Pacific while taking advantage against North Korea.

By standing with our allies and against the enemies of freedom through sanctions and through support to opressed peoples, President Rubio got the world to a democratic Syria, to a democratic Venezuela and to a democratic Cuba.

And these countries became great partners and allies for America. We are rebuilding Syria in order to make sure Syrians will reclaim all the necessary services they need to get better lives and we are training the new Syrian Army to make sure they will be able to defend their country. We gave Syria back to Syrians. We ended embargos against Cuba and Venezuela and we are now trading with them in addition of working with them to fight worldwide poverty, corruption, crime and terrorism.

President Rubio and his administration took bold actions to modernize our military through investments into the development of the Air Force LRS-B program and of the Columbia-class submarine program as well as in the development of laser arsenal. So it will make our military much stronger, lead us to final victory against terrorism, help us to either prevent a nuclear war against North Korea or win against North Korea if Kim Jong-un dares challenging us through a declaration of war. If we want peace, we need to be prepared for war. Time has come for us to accomplish our road to victory and to permanent international security, stability, freedom, justice and peace and that requires strength and that's why we need four more years of President Marco Rubio, a great leader who is determined to defend our values, our freedom, our people and our allies. Determination is a great weapon in these times of challenges and « determinated » is clearly a word describing Marco Rubio and that's why he is asking for your vote to keep America safe and to keep America strong.

Before entering politics, I spent my career in the private sector when I started a construction company named Bencor. Thanks to our audacity, determination, hardworking, ingenuity and entrepreneurship, this company became successful, growing at 80 percent per year and carried out projects in over 18 states. And in recognition to my business success, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga named me to their “Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame”. I know what it takes to create jobs in this country and so does President Rubio. And what it takes to create jobs and reinforce our prosperity is to make America the best place in the world to do business.

And that's what President Rubio did in the last four years by cutting taxes and regulations for all Americans, thus increasing their purchasing power, and for all businesses for the sake of a stronger competitiveness for them of stronger job creation. Unlike Bernie Sanders, who is seeking to increase taxes and regulations on businesses and on hardworking Americans and rip our trade deals, President Rubio managed to find common grounds on the trade issue by ratifying free trade deals with Asia, Latin America, the European Union and India while cutting taxes and regulations on our manufacturing industry and by lowering our corporate tax rate from 40 % to 15 %, thus reinforcing America's competitiveness in the world economy, lowering our tariffs and encouraging job creation here in America. And that's how we created 12 million new jobs in the last four years.

America's strength also means standing with our allies and fighting national security threats until we obtain final victory against our enemies. That is not Bernie Sanders' view. He opposed time after time after time to support our troops and voted against all the conter-terrorism efforts given in the last four years. What is confusing about Senator Sanders is that he opposed NATO expansion before he flip-flopped on that issue by supporting Montenegro's ascension into NATO.

Bernie Sanders claims to be pro-Israel and yet he voted against designating Iran's Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization despite the fact that the Quds Force, a special forces unit of Iran's Revolutionary Guards responsible for their extraterritorial operations, attempted a terrorist attack against the U.S. embassy in Azerbaijan in 2012, and provides weapons to terrorist groups around the world, including the Hezbollah and ISIS in Gaza in order to destabilize Israel and our other allies in the region.

Despite the fact that Iran is the world's largest state-sponsor of terrorism and is seeking to get nuclear weapons to attack the United States and our allies, Senator Sanders supported the Iran nuclear deal that handed them hundreds of billions of dollars that could have helped them to accomplish their goals and to launch a nuclear war against us, thus costing millions of lives.

So Bernie Sanders is in a state of denial about one of the biggest threats facing our country. And if you deny it and you don't deal with it, you can't face it. Marco Rubio can face the enemy. He can win, and he can and he will bring victory for this country.

He did it by strengthening our homeland security, by strengthening and modernizing our military, reinforcing and enlarging our alliances and sending all the necessary troops and military arsenal in Syria and Iraq to fight and defeat ISIS and as a result, we freed all the Syrian territory and the Iraqi territory from ISIS' evil and we killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

President Rubio also brought us to victory by getting India to join us militarily in our counter-terrorism fight in Afghanistan and that's how we eradicated radical Islamic terrorism in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He also restored sanctions against Iran in order to deprive them of the necessary revenues they need to build nuclear weapons and to sponsor terrorist groups, thus eliminating the risk of nuclear war against Iran and further diminishing the terrorist threat.

That's why America needs President Rubio and thanks to his leadership in terms of economic growth, national security, our children and grandchildren will inherit a prosperous, safe and free country, will earn all the opportunities that previous generations didn't have and will definitely be the most prosperous generation of Americans that ever lived.

We are now stronger, safer and freer than ever before thanks to President Rubio's policies that kept our nation safe through a stronger military, stronger alliances and stronger American leadership.

My friends, our security and global peace requires keeping America's status as the most powerful military in the world. We are living in a world where technology is rapidly evolving, including when it comes to military arsenal. In history, it took 50 years to pass from the Gatling gun to the machine gun. It took over 40 years to pass from wooden-made warships to iron-made warships and destroyers. It took over 10 years to develop and innovate tanks and over 300 years to realize the invention of the tank since Leonardo da Vinci in some way foresaw or "invented" the tank in his drawings. It took a decade to develop war planes. It took only a year to develop mustard gas bombs. And it took only 3 years for the Mahattan Project to develop nuclear weapons and today that would take only 3 months for North Korea and Iran to develop such weapons, which would rapidly give them the ability to attack us and our allies, to trigger a nuclear war and to kill millions and millions of people. But thanks to President Rubio's leadership that established tough sanctions against Iran and North Korea, we drastically diminished their ability to get nuclear weapons and to sponsor terrorism, thus keeping us safe and strong and reinforced international peace and stability.

We deprived these two geopolitical foes of the necessary capitals to develop their nuclear arsenal, we sanctionned any crude oil provision to North Korea in order to weaken their military since it is the very lifeblood of any modern armed force. We reinforced our alliances around the Pacific with the creation of the Pacific Treaty Organization and reinfored our military presence in order to prevent any nuclear war triggered by North Korea. And thanks to the establishment of an anti-missile shield, we will take down any nuclear missile launched against us and our allies.

Despite the fact that North Korea is determined to destroy us, Bernie Sanders opposed the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act that made great contributions into the weakening of Iran's and North Korea's nuclear threats. Throughout his career, he voted against giving our troops the necessary tools and resources needed to defeat radical Islamic terrorism and to restore national security, stability and peace.

He opposed the First Gulf War and called for the elimination of the B-2 program that helped us to win the Cold War.

President Rubio is the only one who can get us to a non-nuclear Iran and to a non-nuclear North Korea, defeat terrorism and make global peace permanent.

And by reinforcing and modernizing our military through a larger defense budget, President Rubio is about to lead us to victory against radical Islamic terrorism, we eradicated ISIS in Iraq, Afghanistan and North Africa and almost in Syria. Victory is imminent.

His administration took bold actions to modernize our military by investing into the development of the Columbia-class submarine, of the Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider program and of laser arsenal in order to make sure we will prevail in any eventual nuclear war, defeat  terror and keep us safe. We can't stop thinking about the future and thanks to such powerful miliary and strong alliances, we will get to victory and the world will reclaim peace, stability, freedom and justice. And that's why we need to re-elect President Rubio for the sake of victory, strength and security.

Four years ago, we were facing times of uncertainty as we were witnessing the rise of ISIS. Along with our allies, we were suffering multiple terrorist attacks by this radical Islamic terrorist group whether it's in Garland, San Bernardino, Orlando, Paris, Nice, Brussels, etc. With all these disasters, we were concerned that ISIS would eventually be trumpeting to the world that they defeated the United States of America. So we clearly concluded that the previous administration's strategy has failed just like the weak foreign policy agenda promoted by Bernie Sanders that guts our military, abandons our allies and allows groups we know nothing about and could have ties with ISIS to get weapons has proven to be a failure. We can't afford to move backwards.

When President Rubio came in office, he understood that we needed to employ a new strategy to defeat ISIS, to restore peace and freedom and to keep America safe. And that requiredcalling our enemy by its name, which is radical Islamic terrorism, reinforcing our security measures, rebuilding our military, strengthening and expanding our alliances, arming the right groups in the Middle East, taking on ISIS' oil refineries, providing our allies all the necessary military training, arms deals and intelligence support and striking terrorists wherever they are and that is exactly what President Rubio did in the last four years. And that's how we are considerably approaching to final victory against ISIS.

Thanks to these policies, we deprived ISIS of its sources of supply in money and weapons, swept all of ISIS' territory and positions, killed several of its main officers and we killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Thanks to the strategy adopted by Marco Rubio and his administration, we got India to join us in Afghanistan by sending troops there to combat terrorism and together we eradicated ISIS and Al Qaida. We also eliminated ISIS in Egypt, in the Arabian peninsula, in North Africa, in Somalia, in Nigeria and in Cameroun. We are now reconstructing Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan in order to restabilize this region and to make sure we'll prevent any terrorist rise there. This strategy is succeeding and if we keep these efforts, we will get the world to total victory against radical Islamic terrorism.

If we did what Bernie Sanders was suggesting, we would not have got to such successful and decisive victories against terrorism. At every step of the way, Senator Sanders is on the wrong side of national security issues. Even though Saddam Hussein was invading Kuwait, he opposed the Gulf War. He voted against the Strategic Defense Initiative and the B-2 bomber program that helped us to win the Cold War. Even after 9/11, he opposed the Patriot Act that foiled over 40 terror plots since 9/11 thanks to domestic and international cooperation, as well as efforts to track down terror.

Even after 9/11, Bernie Sanders voted against the Patriot Act and against the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security, a measure that helped us to prevent any new terrorist attack against the United States.

He even refused to identify Iran as a state-sponsor of terrorism despite the unconstestable fact that they were providing billions of dollars to terrorist organizations and that its leaders shouted, quote, « Death to America! ».

President Rubio is the only one who knows what it takes to keep us safe, to earn our allies' trust and to defeat radical Islamic terrorism and that is and will remain his number one national security priority.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

That is why he will use a part of future budget surpluses to invest into the modernization of our military arsenal and of our intelligence programs, which will further facilitate our counter-terrorism operations and make sure they will be successful. That is why we are supporting civilian freedom fighters in Iran in their quest for a government of integrity that will be on the right side of the War on Terror. That is why we have to prevent any state-sponsor of terrorism to provide them in capitals and weapons. And that is why we need to keep our military strong. You know why? Because as President Rubio has said, there can be no arrangement or negotiation in this fight against radical Islamic terrorism. Either they win or we win. That's the reason why we need to pursue his successful efforts that resulted to the failure of every single attempt of terrorist attack against the United States since 2017, to the decline of the terrorist threat and that will lead us to decisive, total and unconditional victory against our foes for the sake of the defense of our values and freedom and of the restoration of peace through strength, not vulnerability.

Thank you. Thank you my friends, my fellow Republicans and my fellow Americans.

This is a great honor for me to give the Keynote Address at this convention. Every four years, voters across this country orientate their vote depending on the record of the leadership orchestrated in the previous four years. Thanks to President Rubio's leadership, we now have the strongest economy in over 5 decades, 12 million new jobs created, diminished terrorist threat, stronger and safer America, energy independance and our Constitution defended.

Fourty years ago, during times of uncertainty during which our ambassadors in Iran were held hostage, during which the USSR was invading Afghanistan and was taking advantage against us in the Cold War (including when it comes to missile  defense) and during which our economy was weakening through big government, inflation and an oil crisis, Ronald Reagan asked the following famous question : « Are you better off than you were four years ago? » Today, the answer is clearly yes, we are better off than we were four years ago.

It is one of the most important duties of a president to bring the American people together by putting partisanship aside, to work with all parties and to get things done for the sake of America's greatness, prosperity, security and freedom. And that is exactly what President Rubio did in his first term and will keep doing in his second term.

He made immigration reform one of the main priorities of his presidency because he knew that we needed to secure our borders in order to bring illegal immigration under control and to stop ISIS and any drug dealers from infiltrating our country and also in order to give immigrants a path to citizenship to give them a fair chance to live the American Dream, to find good paying jobs and to raise their families. So he brought Republicans and Democrats to work together on this issue and that is why, along with Democratic Senator Kamala Harris, I co-sponsored the Opportunity Act that gave access to American citizenship for immigrants if they pay fines and demonstrate an understanding of English; prohibited a registered provisional immigrant from becoming a lawful permanent resident until after the Secretary of State has certified the availability of visas for all petitions filed and approved before the enactment of this bill, authorize a registered provisional immigrant to receive a social security number, and to enlist in the Armed Forces; established a US-VISIT System; established merit-based system for future visa allocation taking into account education, employment experience, eligibility for a high demand occupation, relation to current citizens, and English language proficiency; established the nonimmigrant agricultural visa program for immigrants residing in foreign countries who come to the United States for a temporary period to work in the agriculture industry and require the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish additional border patrol stations and forward operating bases in the Southwest border region. This bill passed both houses of the Congress thanks to bi-partisan support, thus granting U.S. citizenship and reinforcing our economy through stronger workforce.

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders has once opposed immigration reform since he voted against Immigration Reform Act of 2007, voting against immigrants who are seeking better living conditions here on the land of opportunity.

But thanks to Marco Rubio's bi-partisan policies, the American Dream is finally restored, America is safe and is more inclusive than before and we restored America's status as the land of opportunity.

[Crowd cheers and applauds]

He managed to find common grounds on the abortion issue by encouraging adoption instead of abortion,which allows couples who don't want a child not to have one without having to kill him, thus giving unborn children the right to live, to appreciate life, to be loved (including by their adoptive families) and to be raised.

Our president defended the Second Amendment by allowing the Attorney General to block the transfer of fierarms to suspected criminals and suspected terrorists, thus reducing gun violence and massive shootings and preventing terrorist attacks against our nation while defending the right to self-defense. That is the right way to handle the gun rights issue, not stricter gun control.

Thanks to his pro free market policies, President Rubio succeeded to lead us to energy independence by doubling permits and liscenses on federal lands, by approving the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, of the Dakota Access pipeline, of the Transamerica pipeline and of the Alaska-Texas pipeline, by increasing oil drilling and production, by stopping the War on Coal and by promoting clean coal technologies, thus making America the number one oil producer in the world and creating over 4 million new jobs. And instead of increasing taxes and regulations on the energy industry like Senator Sanders suggests, President Rubio succeeded to ensure a clean environment by investing a part of revenues from oil drilling into the development of renewable energies such as wind, solar, nuclear and hydroelectric, thus further ensuring job creation while improving our ecological footprint.

In addition, it reinforced our national security since our independance towards foreign energy deprived terrorists to get capitals from our imports from unstable regions in throes of terrorism and so we weakened their ability to finance their terrorist activities.

On the trade issue and on the economy in general, Bernie Sanders has no idea of what it takes to create jobs and grow this economy as he seeks to raise taxes and regulations on taxpayers and businesses and to rip our trade deals. He does not understand that 95 % of international consumers are living overseas. The best way to make our trade deals favorable for our workers is to make America the best place in the world to do business and to lower tariffs. That's exactly what Marco Rubio did by cutting taxes for the manufacturing industry, thus helping us to keep our manufacturing jobs and to bring back home the manufacturing jobs lost in the last few decades, and by reducing our corporate tax rate from 40 % to 15 %, which made America the best business-friendly environment in the world. We ratified free trade agreements with East Asia, Latin America, Europe and India, thus bringing massive job creation here in America.

Instead of developping infrastructure by raising taxes and by promoting big wasteful government spending like Bernie Sanders suggests, President Rubio did it by encouraging pulic/private partnerships in order to fund infrastructure projects, thus drastically developing new infrastructures across the nation, facilitating economic activities, encouraging the implementation of new businesses here in this country as well as job creation. So once again he brought both parties to work together for the sake of the people and its prosperity.

Unlike the previous administration that provided weapons to groups we knew nothing about and could have been working for ISIS, President Rubio managed to bring both parties together by arming the right groups in the Middle East through background checks, thus avoiding to arm terrorist groups and helping us to defeat ISIS.

In order to accelerate our path to victory in Afghanistan, while Bernie Sanders was prepared to abandon our allies, to aweaken our military and to let Afghanistan in throes of terrorism, President Rubio brought both parties together to temporarily reduce military aid to Pakistan, thus convincing Pakistan to do more to fight terrorism and getting India to deploy troops in Afghanistan, and together, with the combination of the 1st and 4th military powers in the world, we delivered the final blow to radical Islamic terrorism in this region and to restore peace, freedom and stability after almost 20 years of fight against jihadism.

While Bernie Sanders' selfish partisan hack attitude will bring the nation backwards, President Rubio knows that it's only together that we can get things done and move our nation forward. United we stand, divided we fall. We are now more united than ever before and that's why he will keep working with both parties in order to get us to full-employment, permanent security and global peace through strength. That's how we're going to keep America strong. America's best days are ahead of us.
