Who will be the Jeb Bush candidate in terms of major preparation for a presidential run only to be stopped by a completely different candidate?

nah.

Being Jeb Bush isn't just about being a paper tiger. Being Jeb Bush is about being completely ideologically out of step with the party, perceived as owing all of your loyalties to hostile interests, AND being a secretly disastrous politician.

I think Cory Booker is perfect for this, considering I think Cuomo is both more ideologically conservative and more rhetorically left-wing and is also a slightly craftier politico. But Cuomo is also corrupt, so I suspect a scandal dooms Cuomo and kills his campaign before he even gets started ala Christie.

So Booker is to Bush as Cuomo is to Christie. I think Warren is to Cruz - a candidate most of the ideologues agree with, but haven't fallen in love with. She'll do well, but I doubt she'll be the nominee.

If Warren really knew wanted to run then she should've ran for President in 2016.

The Democrats have no one comparable to Jeb Bush in their party.  Not really.

You're forgetting a big name:

Mark Dayton.

Trust fund baby from a super-rich family.

Very little experience working a real job. Never needed to work because he inherited all that money from his grandfather.

Governor of a large state.

Wasn't talked about as a potential candidate at first.

Also seems to have questionable political skills.

Cuomo

He seems like the the guy who would massively outspend all of his opponents just to crash and drop out.

I don't think he can do that.  As I've said before, Cuomo will be able to raise a decent amount of money, simply because he's the sitting governor of New York, and so a lot of rich people want to suck up to him.  But I don't think he would actually be able to outraise the rest of the field a la Bush unless people actually think he's likely to win the nomination.  And I don't really see that happening.  Is Cuomo ever going to be leading the polls, for example, as Bush was at least briefly?  I don't see it.

Hillary Clinton, if she ran again, would be the closest thing. I don't see any of the likely candidates as a good Jeb analogue though.

Hillary Clinton won a majority of Democratic primary voters in two elections, so actually did have a hefty, enthusiastic coalition in her party. She won the nomination. She won the national popular vote by 3 million. She has become an inspirational feminist icon to a sizeable group of voters (none of whom are represented here, evidently Roll Eyes). She is no Jeb Bush.
