Abstain

I've reached out to the Governors to try and coordinate a uniform and clear-cut system for changing one's gender officially through a legal process that would likely include some kind of clinical treatment -- after we work that out, it should be a lot easier to address issues of transgender rights in prisons and elsewhere.

In the meantime, AZ's solution is decent.

Guys the vote is on the above amendment H5:02, not the gender issue. It strikes the clause that guarantees everyone a chance at parole after 25 years.

Vote on Passage of NC Yankee Amendment H5:02:

Aye (2): NC Yankee and Potus
Nay (1): 1184AZ
Abstain (4): OneJ_, Peebs, Simossad and Ted

Didn't Vote (2): Enduro and Heisenberg

With time having expired and one of the weirdest vote results I have ever seen, The Amendment has been adopted.

I'm opposed to outright repeal of the Protect America Act. The law explicitly targets foreign intelligence targets, so it can't jeopardize the 4th amendment rights of American citizens.

Closure of Guantanamo Bay, particularly with ISIS on the horizon, is a reckless decision. The facility has saved lives by taking the most dangerous enemies of this country off the field and providing crucial intelligence. I will oppose any bill to close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay.

I propose an amendment to strike Section 3 Subsection 1 and Section 3 Subsection 2.

I disagree with keeping Guantanamo Bay open. The conditions are quite deplorable and the torture utilized is inhumane. The prisoners don't even receive constitutional protections. Some men over there weren't even combatants or terrorists. There was even a 14 year old detainee at one point. Overall, keeping Guantanamo Bay open isn't a good decision.

I would be much more inclined to support the bill with the amendment -- without it, as I previously stated, it tries to do too much.

Yeah, go propose another bill to do some of this stuff. This is trying to be too many things as is.

Aye.

It isn't perfect due to changes, but I pretty much agree with Peebs though.

Vote on Amendment H5:05 by Potus

Aye (5): Enduro, NC Yankee, OneJ_, Peebs, Potus
Nay (1): 1184AZ
Abstain (0):

Not Voting (3): Heisenberg, Simossad, and TedBessell

The Amendment has been adopted.

I guess the rules say I can close it once it gets 5 votes one way or the other.
