She seems open to it, what is her path if any?

Her biggest problem is that her image doesn't allow her to go negative.

There's a path for her as an Obama-like hope/renewal candidate if Trump is deeply unpopular, but if he's in contention he'll batter her without her being able to respond in kind effectively.

Essentially, she's better than anyone else in a Lean-D election, but weak in a toss-up/tilt election.

Through the south in the primary, similar to HRC, but with more appeal in the Midwest.

In the general, Trump -WI/-PA/-MI OR -FL/-GA.

I think she has a good chance being a self-made affluent member of society (unlike Trump) and who has ample social status to counter Trump's appeal. She is also well-spoken and respected. Her message could be crafted around "I was actually in your shoes, unlike Trump, so I know how you feel."

And IF we want to talk identity politics, she checks all the boxes.

She would win the same exact coalitions Hillary, Bernie, and Barack had. Causing Trump to pretty much rely on old White working class voters with subconscious racist tendencies.

She'll win.

Trump had a history of staking out positions on political issues. Her problem would be if she just seemed to run because she was rich and famous, as opposed to having a vision for the country that she was passionate about. (That was sort of Hillary's problem as well, but at least Hillary had her women's and children's work to fall back on.)

A video of her seeming open to it has "...been making the rounds on the internet today, but it was actually filmed on December 12. And in January, Winfrey told Stephen Colbert that she would "never" run for president. "It's not my thing," Winfrey said at the time."

She went from poverty in rural Jim Crow Mississippi to being the richest black person in America and a prolific philanthropist. Don't be outrageous. (that is about the kindest word I could come up with)

Huh? Lots of people grew up poor and became successes. Having a life story isn't a political program. And you're one to talk about being outrageous, Mr "I want a war with China" more than anything.

Didn't Trump say that he wanted Oprah to be his VP if he ever decided to run for office before the 2016 election?

If Oprah really wants political office she should run against Rauner in 2018.

She would win the same exact coalitions Hillary, Bernie, and Barack had.

These three didn't have the same coalitions. Hence why only one actually won.

Oprah makes a little more sense than some of the other names mentioned of this board.

I honestly think she'd win but we have to think about our country at this point. A reality show host vs. a talk show host? No. No no no no no no. No.

Even if she knows absolutely nothing about policy, she'd still know more than Donald Trump.
