The petition to deny him a formal state visit got 1.8 million signatures. I think it's safe to say that even if he waits until October and wears a disguise, he's going to get protests.

There'll presumably be protests in every democratic country he visits.  He should just restrict his visits to dictatorships, because they tend to not allow protests.

The vast majority of people who will go and protest Trump will be on the left particularly the Corbynites will feature prominently.

The truth of the matter is most people really don't care overly strongly whether Trump comes or not. Maybe a third of people who say they oppose his visit actually feel passionate enough to consider protesting so that's like about 10%. The protests will be big but as is typical with protests they don't reflect the views of the average person (many on the British left fall into the trap of equating large protests/crowds with support for them/their causes when in reality their merely preaching to the converted).
