i know this is old news, but now that they are back in disarmerment (i know i spelled it wrong) talks, can they be convinced to give 'em up soon?

puh-leeze. Kim's not giving up on his weapons unless either the US or China decides to take him out. Or maybe if he's overthrown, but that isn't terribly likely.

Oh he can...

Where did I mention the 'North Korean people' or make any claim as to who they may be 'better off under'?  I merely said that if Kim John Ill and the sovereign government of N.Korea wish to maintain that sovereignty against the Empire, they damn well better have nuclear weapons.

Not likely that they would give them up under any circumstance. The best option for now is to simply attempt to assasinate Kim, by launching cruise missiles at various HQ buildings if necessary, and then cutting off all food aid into the country until it submits to occupation by China. Sounds horrible and it most likely is horrible, but it could work.
