Thanks McConnell and Heller, we get to save Obamacare AND take the second Nevada senate seat. What a deal.

Don't forget to thank Paul Ryan for forcing lots of vulnerable moderate House Republicans to vote for the ACHA under the false pretense that punting it to the Senate would produce a better bill and getting their votes on record for an extremely unpopular bill.

By the way, I hope this is a lesson to people who are confidently going "of course this will pass" or "of course this will fail."

Politics can surprise you and things aren't sure. I said here earlier today that we couldn't be sure about how this was going to end up.

Unless the makeup of the Senate changes (McCain dying or Menendez getting convicted and resigning), why would the result be any different than it was this time with the most intense pressure and arm-twisting in recent memory behind it?

Does anyone know enough about the policy specifics here to answer a pretty stupid question, ideally via PM?

I got something I just want to get off my chest. Mitch, Joe Freakin' Manchin didn't give voting for any of these repeals the time of day and he would find any excuse to cross over being he comes from the state that is ground zero for Trump support. Stop blaming dems for the fact this bill was sh*t

Politically, is it better for the GOP that this bill didn't pass and they don't have to deal with the massive downsides of Skinny Repeal?

So, when is Trump's temper tantrum on Twitter coming?

Around 6:30am Eastern would be my guess. He claims to sleep for 4 hours a night, and is probably going to bed about now.

Unless his caregivers take his cell phone away, of course.

In some ways but what do they run on in 2018? They have failed to keep their promise to the base

The House GOP has to deal with the downside of the atrocious healthcare bill that they voted for and passed.

If Mitch were smarter he would take a hint and move on to tax reform, but that's too much to ask.

What's the next step being reported in the news?
