It's odd that more senators haven't publicly wavered on GC, given that McConnell punished Murkowski, Paul, and McCain for not toeing the line by. . . modifying the bill to grant their states pork.

Yeah, I sure wish my senators would threaten to vote no to get some special extras

I wish she, Murkowski, and McCain would write a bill. If they’re gonna shoot it down, I would like to see their (most likely better) alternative, all three of them.

That's a really interesting idea.  I'd like to see what they would come up with.

They'd probably support the Alexander-Murray bipartisan bill.

They just want to keep Obamacare, while adding more subsidy payments to insurance companies to cover high-risk patients.

So, Obamacare is most likely saved for quite some time then?

At least until next year's reconciliation process.

What's Rand Paul's rationale for opposing Graham-Cassidy?

What's Rand Paul's rationale for opposing Graham-Cassidy?

The block grants, and the fact it doesn't go far enough to repeal O-care.

So is this year's 50-vote barrier bill wasted?  And next year will be for tax cuts?

The option to do tax cuts and healthcare all together is still open but in reality, that would be a nightmare.

Barring a last-minute miracle, yes for this year.

There has been some talk about trying to combine both tax reform and health care in a single reconciliation bill next year.  Not that trying to do two difficult things at once is going to be any easier than doing them separately.

Apparently, though there's been mention of using next year's reconciliation for a YUGE bill that would do both ObamaCare Repeal and Tax Reform. Of course, such a plan would rule out any democratic support - Heitkamp, Manchin, and Donnelly have left the door open to supporting a bill that is just tax reform.

The only thing that's going to accomplish will be sinking Tax Reform.

I know that McCain has said numerous times, that he would like to see what both parties can come up with (work together). There was some talk on both sides with giving it the old-college-try.
That is what I am interested in seeing.
