I saw this almost a year ago that asked who you thought would be president in the years 2017 - 2041. Now I want to know who you think will be president in the years 2021 - 2045

Here's what I think

Donald Trump: 2017 - 2025
Ted Cruz or Tom Cotton: 2025 - 2033
Unknown social conservative/fiscal liberal Democrat: 2033 - 2041
Unknown Republican: 2041 - 2049

If we have 4 consecutive Republican Presidents, then Democrats will probably gain such impenetrable majorities in both chambers of congress and in state legislatures that, by 2026 or so, the Republican president will be rendered powerless on everything except foreign policy.  By 2030, the Democratic senate would potentially be able to override the President's vetoes.

But I think it's very unlikely Republicans will be able to last that long in the White House in any case.  My inclination is that Trump will be a 2-term president, after which Democrats will command a unified government.

We can expect Mike Pence if Trump is impeached (likely), Paul Ryan if Pence fall with him for some reason (possible). After that, I'm pretty sure we will have Jason Kander and Tom Cotton, but I can't say in what order though.

Ok, let's do a fantasy timeline.

2017-2018: Donald Trump
2018-2021: Mike Pence
2021-2029: Steve Bullock
2029-2037: Tom Cotton
2037-2045: Jason Kander

Bullock's VP would be Elizabeth Warren. He would win his reelection against a Ryan/Haley ticket.

Cotton's VP would be Cory Gardner. He would beat Eric Garcetti (who is then Senator of California) and his running mate, Kirsten Gillibrand, in 2028, and then Joe Kennedy/Chris Murphy in 2032.

Jason Kander and his VP Pete Buttigieg finally triumph against yet unknowns republicans to try to rebuild America after Cotton's disastrous two terms.

There's no way to accurately predict this so here's a made-up timeline.

2021-2025: Amy Klobuchar
2025-2033: Ben Sasse
2033-2041: Justin Chenette
2041-2045: Vicente González

^ Ohio has term limits, I think. So even if Kasich did want to run for re-elex, he couldn't.
