Addressing the crowd in a random unimportant city you've never heard of outside of Charlotte

Hello, hello everyone! Great to be here in North Carolina!

As you can probably tell by the large banners, I'm Leinad, current Class II Senator for the South. I still feel like a bit of a newcomer in comparison to many here, but I suppose considering that I've been fairly active for the entire year and a half I've been registered--only a handful of people have been consistently active in that time with no breaks--I'm now basically a veteran.

I'll try to keep this brief--no need to pat my own back too hard--but in case everyone needs a refresher in my accomplishments: I was one of the primary participants in and Deputy Presiding Officer of the Constitutional Convention, I was a successful Governor of the South, as President I signed pro-LGBT legislation, veto'd dangerous foreign policy resolutions, and set up the cabinet positions in the new government, and since then I've been Southern Delegate, Speaker, and now Senator, where I have worked with the other Senators (in a majority left-of-center chamber) to pass some good legislation people from every party can agree on.

Now, all that's about the past. What will I do in the future? I'll fully admit that my Senate tenure hasn't been as productive as I wanted it to be. Things haven't been going that well IRL (inb4 "how dare you use real life to win votes" or whatever--I'm not though, just being honest, if I was purely looking for votes I wouldn't make a large paragraph about my lack of activity Tongue), which has unfortunately translated to productivity here. But I promise I'll change that, introduce more bills--like my recent constitutional amendment to fix grammar errors and make it gender neutral, except actually with substance Tongue--participate in more debate, and make more amendments. In fact I fully plan to introduce bills this weekend. And for what it's worth I've done a lot better than many in the Senate over the history of the game!

What type of activity can you expect from me? Well, I support a reduced role of government, I support equal treatment of everyone, I support a foreign policy approach centered on maintaining peace and avoiding the many unintended consequences that intervention causes, I support innovation in business that can lead to more individual control, such as Uber, or to advancements in medicine. I will listen to all sides of any issue, and while you may not agree with my conclusion, I always do what I think is best, all things considered, for the people.

I'd be really grateful if you elect me to another term in the Senate. I am under no illusion that winning this will be easy, or that I am entitled to this seat. SJoyce has ran a good campaign, but I hope that I can win your vote this election, and that we can further Atlasia together.

Thank you!

I have a couple questions asking as a citizen:

At what point would you vote against your own party at the ballot box?

How will you place your region and Atlasia above your Party?

Thanks for the questions, AZ!

On both questions, I would say that I always try to do what's best for the game. That includes voting for who I think is best and putting the game over party, but it also means voting based on issues most of the time, because isn't that what a politics game is supposed to be about? Tongue

Thanks for the endorsements, guys Smiley

I try to spruce stuff up with a bit of humor, even if the joke is a blatant rip-off from dfw's post on the same thread. Tongue

Well run campaign, my friend. It was an honor to have you as my Senator and I look forward to your continued progress in your fight to do what you believe (even though we disagree on what that might be) is in the best interests of the South, and this nation. I am very excited to see what comes of it.

Just wanted to congratulate you on a well-fought campaign. Though we may disagree, you’ve been an important voice on the issues, and I hope you remain involved with the South.

It's been great working with you Senator!  If you have any ideas for more bills, I'm always open to sponsoring them.
