Trump seems to be winning over the GOP establishment, or at least the Neocon part of it, with his recent actions and rhetoric. Will the establishment, on this basis, be more open about supporting him in 2020, and could this actually hurt Trump ("damn Trump, just another sellout")?
I expected something of a balancing act when Trump got into office. Let's not forget that the vast majority of neocons and Bush Republicans (globalists, every one) voted for Trump. Trump's Presidency has to, in fact, reflect the policies of his actual supporters to a significant enough level to accomplish anything, and establishment types like Reince Priebus and neocons in Congress are examples of this.
Trump is going to have to come up with something that actually makes the lives of the voters in PA, MI, and WI that switched to the GOP for him actually better. They're not going to jump on a militaristic bandwagon that makes him look like Bush 45. People really buy into America First. Trump needs to not forget that.
