2017-2021: Businessman Donald Trump (R-NY)/Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN)
-def. 2016: Fmr. Sec. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY)/Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA)

2021-2023: Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT)/Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) [1]
-def. 2020: Pres. Donald Trump (R-NY)/Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN); Sen. Jeff Flake (C-AZ)/Commentator Bill Kristol (C-NY);

2023-2029: Vice Pres. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV)/House Maj. Whip Tim Ryan (D-OH) [2]
-def. 2024: Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT)/Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC)

2029-2037: Gov. Marco Rubio (R-FL)/House Min. Whip Elise Stefanik (R-NY) [3]
-def. 2028: Vice Pres. Tim Ryan (D-OH)/Sen. London Breed (D-CA); Rep. Stephen Miller (AF-CA)/Sen. Kris Kobach (R-KS) [4]
-def. 2032: Sen. Maj. Leader Cory Booker (D-NJ)/Sen. Jeff Jackson (D-NC)

1: The election results were not finalized until Dec. 1, 2020. The results of Michigan, the state that decided the election, necessitated a recount. Given that the tiebreaker was within the Arab/immigrant-heavy Dearborn area, Pres. Trump cried fowl, but the votes ended up being legitimate, and Sanders won the state and the election 281-257.

2: President Sanders resigned from office following a stroke on Nov. 23, 2023. Vice President Masto was inaugurated hours later.

3: After losing the 2022 senatorial election, Marco Rubio ran for and won the 2024 gubernatorial election. Noted for his more minority-friendly rhetoric and pivot towards a platform of Christian Democracy, Rubio defeated Vice President Ryan handily given the dour economic climate.

4. Following the effective purge of Trump hardliners from the GOP, Former cabinet member and representative of Dana Rohrbacher's former district founded the America First Party and ran on its ticket alongside Kris Kobach, the failed Kansas gubernatorial candidate who later succeeded Pat Roberts.

So there hasn't been a Democratic President to serve two full terms since FDR?? Why?

Bobby fails in Vietnam peace talks and a Scandal involving the Secretary of State and a prostitute led to him falling in popularity, though Goldwater won through the House as it was a tie in 1972

Carter has a lot of problems as him increasing taxes suddenly leads to the US Economy going into a recession, multiple businesses closing their doors and moving away, and non-intervention in Afghanistan lead to the Soviets taking it over, making him incredibly unpopular and losing in a landslide to Baker.

you saw what happened to Brown

Secretary of State Kerry just wasn't strong enough to stop Mattingly after his ties to Brown's failed administration and Gore has the same thing

Wilson is the VP of a popular President Dean and Obama are seen as too Liberal for a country that's somewhat more moderately Conservative by now

Biden has a lot of problems, from his many, many gaffes, to just being rude and disliked in General

Setup: Eisenhower decides against running for re-election leading to a fight for the Republican nomination. Stevenson doesn't run for President in '52 and runs for re-election as Governor running in '56 and choosing his running mate instead of the convention. Stevenson then suffers a lethal heart attack during his presidency (as a part of the curse of Tippecanoe)

34) Dwight Eisenhower (R) Kansas 1953-1957   36) Richard Nixon (R) California 1953-1957
35) Adlai E. Stevenson II (D) Illinois 1957-1963   37) John F. Kennedy (D) Massachusetts 1957-1963

Why do the Republicans have a 24 year hold on the Presidency?

DeSantis goes LBJ on McAuliffe

Harris barely loses to DeSantis after he runs on their accomplishments

John James is seen as an African American JFK and he faces two of the worst candidates in Presidential election history in both of his elections

Nikki Haley is able to cruise to victory on a platform of the moderate policies that John James started and are popular as opposed to Beto's extremist ideas (Haley paints Beto as such, he's not an extremist)

Hood defeats Haley because the Nation is finally sick of Republicans being in control

List of alternate leaders of the Democratic Party

This one looks like a mess so let me explain. POV is Kerry wins in 2004, loses in 2008, and Obama wins in 2012. The congressional leadership is rockier than in real life since stability is boring. Named are bolded when the Democrats are in the majority, and italicized when they are in the minority. Basically, Democrats held the presidency 2013–2021, held the House 2011–2019 & 2023–, and held the Senate 2013–2015 & 2023–.

Not making tables for the Senate leader/whip since those are not really as messy as the House succession. Jon Tester got Daschle 2004'd in 2018 tho (RIP). Dick Durbin spent a stunning 15 years (2005-2021) as Democratic whip (likely to be repeated in real life).
