I'm a Tennesseean, but I've seen him and I think he has a future. Even if he SOMEHOW loses to Karen Handel, which is unlikely, he could be a candidate in 2024. Think about it, he'll be young, have a lot of name recognition from 2017 (it'll fizzle out but I believe he'll maintain some), comes from a "battleground" state, and he's a great speaker. He would be VP in 2020 if he was old enough. But he could be the youngest president ever, or an extremely young VP. I'm just saying. Watch this guy. He has a future. I think Beto O'Rourke and Jon Ossoff are the type of guys the Democratic Party needs. That's coming from a republican.

He definitely won't qualify to be a presidential candidate by losing a House race, though of course he could still be eligible to seek some other position (Senator against Perdue in a good climate in 2020, maybe?) and then go from there.

He still comes from a pretty red district, so I wouldn't jump to these types of conclusions this early.

I think Scott Holcomb is the more likely young Georgia Democrat to become a rising star.

Eh, let's make sure he wins the runoff before we start construction on his presidential museum.

(But yes, I think he has a future if he gets into Congress.)

Even in 2024 he'll be 37. I'd say he could run for Senate in 2020 (regardless of whether he wins 2017), then run for President in 2028 or 2032.
