Turn Two: Monday, June 15

State of the Presidential Race:

Almost every pundit had assumed Hillary Clinton would be a shoo-in to the Democratic nomination, which makes it all the more shocking that she will likely not announce a campaign. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, despite technically not being a member of the Democratic Party, was the first to announce his campaign. Sanders, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, has had a reputation for being an outspoken progressive, and his base is expected to draw from both progressive and anti-establishment voters. Soon after, incumbent Vice President Joe Biden announced his campaign as well. Biden is thought of as more of a moderate candidate, and the establishment is expected to be split between him and Warren for the most part. Most recently, Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts has announced her campaign. A former advisor to President Obama, she became nationally famous after defeating incumbent Senator Scott Brown in 2012. Warren has a reputation as a progressive, although less liberal and more establishment-friendly than Sanders.

In the Republican primaries, Senators Ted Cruz (Texas) and Marco Rubio (Florida) both announced their campaigns quickly, as pundits had predicted. Cruz mainly draws his voters from the Tea Party, while Rubio is more of an establishment candidate, although a rather conservative one. The third announcement, however, came out of left field even for most pundits. Ratt lead singer Stephen Pearcy, who had previously been uninvolved in politics for the most part, announced his candidacy, stating dissatisfaction with the current set of candidates. Although many pundits don't expect him to do well, his candidacy has won over voters who are against the Republican establishment and would prefer an outsider over a politician. In a slightly less surprising announcement, Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas, who had mostly been overlooked as a potential candidate, also announced his candidacy. Moran is in a position where he could potentially get supporters from both mainstream conservatives and the Tea Party, but his low name recognition could be an obstacle. The next candidate to enter the race was Rand Paul, who had been predicted to be a candidate for quite a while. Although not as libertarian as his father, Paul is quite libertarian even by Tea Party standards. It is unknown where his voters will come from ideologically at this point in time, although supporters of his father in 2012 may also support him. In another rather surprising development, Donald Trump, after multiple times teasing a run for the presidency only to refuse, finally entered the race. His politics, which have been called populist and anti-establishment, could get voters from a variety of right-wing ideologies. The most recent candidate to enter the race was Mitch Daniels, a former governor of Indiana. Daniels is the first candidate to enter the race who could be described as a moderate, which could potentially be a major benefit to him, but could also backfire.

Recent News:

On June 2, the Senate passed the USA Freedom Act, and President Obama subsequently signed it into law. The USA Freedom Act's purpose was mainly to replace the USA Patriot Act, which had expired the day before. Although some sections of the USA Patriot Act were toned down, there are still parts that remain intact.
The Turkish general election was held on June 7. President Recep Erdogan's party, the Justice and Development Party, lost 69 seats and their majority in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Given that no party has a majority, negotiations for a coalition government are in process.

Percy in a interview stated

"I don't want any politican or corporation's money on my campaign for all I know it could be from some insider political donor or Goldman Sachs.

Press Release from EMILY's list on behalf Elizabeth Warren

It's time to make history and elect the first female President of these United States. For this reason, we have decided to endorse Senator Warren at this time. She is a fighter for a women's right to choose, their political and labor rights, and against the rampant sexism in society, and she will continue this fight in the Oval Office.

Other Endorsements

Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey (Will campaign for Warren in New Hampshire), Former Massachusetts Governor, 1988 Presidential nominee Michael Dukakis (Will campaign for Warren in New Hampshire)

PERCY RENO NEVADA TOWN HALL ON A LESS COURRPT GOVERMENT

If elected I will take down the corrupt nature of the administrations of Clinton,Bush and Obama.

I fully believe that they have abuse their powers of government and just love to push their war mongering agenda to people.

You look at the Patriot act and the Freedom act that was just passed.

If you look at these things front and center it's pure Fascism!!

I have respect for the military don't get me wrong but I believe that even since the end of the Cold War the role of it has been used horribly. Iraq was a total disaster and we basically lied about WNDs for oil!!

Now Obama is pushing Syria and possibly arming people we don't know about. They could be ISIS for all we know!

*Crowd claps*

And despite all these withdrawals we are still in Afghanistan and Iraq! And I fear that anything that we will get involved in Syria.

In a Percy presidency war and military action will be a last resort if we can't deal things properly.

Schedule for Elizabeth Warren

June 15, 2015

Speech in Portsmouth New Hampshire

I don't believe that our prohibition on online poker is particularly productive. It would be much more helpful to legalize it, and tax player's revenue. Banning it draws comparisons to Prohibition, in the 1920's, with the unenforceable Volstead act, compared with the unenforceable UGIEA, and it's attempts to regulate behavior. That is not something America should be in the business of, and it is something we will seek to correct.

Meet Voters in Epworth, Iowa

Meet Voters in Peosta, Iowa

Meet Voters in Luxemburg, Iowa

Appearance on Anderson Cooper 360, by satellite, from Luxemburg, Iowa

Senator, what do you believe should be done about ISIS?

Anderson, President Obama's drone strategy to disrupt ISIS operations is working slowly, but surely. We still need to be vigilant for ISIS inspired attacks on our soil, but we are winning the war ISIS in Iraq. In Syria, we need to be able to remove both jihadists like ISIS and the Al-Nusra front and Bashar Al-Assad, and replace him a with an individual acceptable to all parties.

Speech in Laconia, New Hampshire (With Ed Markey)

Just like Senator Sanders I am a loyal Progressive, but unlike him, I am a registered, loyal Democrat, meaning that should we win back the House and Senate, I can work with Congress to pass a progressive agenda. He will not, due to the fact, millions outside of Vermont view him as a communist.

STEPHEN PERCY AT UNIVERSITY OF NEW JERSEY COLLEGE REPUBLICANS LUNCHEON ON THE ECONOMY

Thank you New Hampshire university college Republicans for this opportunity and I  appreciate the endorsement

Our economy is a total mess folks. President Obama is out there despite in 2008 claiming he was against Wall Street is now bailing out and pardoning courpt Wall Street bankers.

Obama's tax cuts are really tax cuts for the super rich and a tax hike on the middle class

If I win we will go tough on Wall Street and give a affordable tax rate to the middle class!

*Claps are heard*

I am proposing a 10% tax on Wall Street and billion dollar corporation and a 20 tax cuts on the middle class get rid of the Captial gains and property tax and will get the IRS out of your life!

*Loud claps*

We will get out of NAFTA a disaster that Vice President Biden and Elizabeth Warren want to continue with!

*Boos heard* But with me we are going to withdrawn our involvement from this deal.

*They clap*

And for TPP? Not even gonna think about joining about that! *Laughs*

Summary: Sanders began his long-shot campaign by focusing in Iowa and New Hampshire, hoping for strong placings in both states. Sanders continued to hit his populist message on the campaign trail, appealing to voters with anti-establishment and progressive rhetoric. He also hit back hard at Warren's insinuations that he's a fringe candidate, calling her out for using the communist talking point that has been extensively used by the Republican Party against him.

Marco Rubio's campaign schedule
June 15, 2015-June 22, 2015
Part 1

June 15, 2015
-Flight to Des Moines, Iowa
-Build campaign infrastructure in Iowa
-Agriculture policy speech at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Gardenbuilding in Des Moines, Iowa

Agriculture is Iowa's main economic activity. But in this time of economic stagnation, the American people, including farmers, are struggling to recover and to prosper. Many farmers lost their jobs and rising inflation raised the cost of buying agricultural products, which hurts agricultural businesses. We have to reverse this situation and I have a plan for it.

What we have to do to boost America's agriculture is to cut taxes on businesses, including tractor, seed and agriculture companies, in order to help them to innovate and to manufacture more tractors, seeds and agricultural products, to create jobs, to improve agricultural technologies, thus helping Iowans and Americans to accomplish their agricultural activities and ensure their subsistence.

Energy independence will also boost tractor manufacturing as well as the effectiveness of new agricultural technologies. My plan will reduce Iowans' and Americans' dependence on food stamps through reduction of inflation and food prices, which will reinforce their purchasing power and give them more access to food as well as better living conditions.

-Fundraising event at Des Moines Art Center in Des Moines, Iowa
-Freedom of religion policy speech at Dowling Catholic High School in Des Moines, Iowa

June 16, 2015
-Advertisement filming in Des Moines, Iowa
-Energy policy speech at MidAmerican Energy Company headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa
-Bus trip to Sioux City, Iowa
-Anti-abortion policy speech in front of the Central Baptist Church in Sioux City, Iowa :

Abortion is never good. Everybody, whether or not they are yet eligible to vote, has the right to live. If we tolerate abortion, future generations are likely to look back at this history of our country and call us barbarians for murdering millions of babies who we never gave them a chance to live.

This is not only a social issue, it's also an economic issue. One of the main reasons why the Glorious Thirty (1945-1972) were so prosperous was the great number of young baby boomers who were available to find a job and work. Today, it's exactly the opposite : many baby boomers are going to retirement, which hurts our workforce and slows our GDP and our economy. So if we want longer term economic growth and prosperity, we need to fight abortion in order to let future generations live and make sure that our workforce will get stronger and stronger, making our economy growing again. That's what I'm going to do if I'm elected President of the United States.

-Foreign policy speech at Sioux City Air National Guard Base in Sioux City, Iowa

June 17, 2015
-Marco Rubio's campaign broadcasts an advertisement about the Florida Senator's accomplishments and agenda. This ad is airing in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada :

Marco Rubio is a man of honor and integrity who devoted his life and energy to Florida and America, serving in the Florida House of Representatives and in the United States Senate. We need a person with great political experience and with a great accomplishment record. In the Senate, Marco Rubio has worked in the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation; Foreign Relations; Select Committee on Intelligence and Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committees.

In the Florida House of Representatives, he introduced a book called “100 Innovative Ideas For Florida’s Future” and 24 of those ideas became law.

In the Senate, Marco Rubio supported military intervention in Libya that contributed to Gaddafi's fall and to democratic transition in Libya in 2011. That same year, he cosponsored the AGREE Act, a bill that increased tax credits and exemptions for companies investing in R & D, equipment and other capital and gave tax credits for veterans opening a business franchise. In 2013, Marco Rubio co-sponsored the Regulation Costs to Small Businesses Act, which required the Small Business Administration to conduct an annual study to estimate the total cost of regulations on small businesses. He successfully co-sponsored the 2014 VA reform law by introducing a measure empowering the VA secretary to hold managers accountable for incompetence, negligence and corruption and to care more about veterans than bureaucrats because it's another way to reward our veterans for their military service and their sacrifices for America. He successfully pushed Venezuela human rights sanctions into law in order to condemn the tyrannical Venezuelan regime led by Nicolas Maduro and promote freedom in this country. Senator Rubio's Girls Count Act is now signed into law, U.S. foreign assistance on the establishment of birth registries to properly document childbirth and prevent kids' exploitation, trafficking or exclusion from society. Rubio's efforts in the Senate to defund Obamacare saved taxpayers $2.5 billion that would have otherwise bailed out health insurance companies under Obamacare. He authored legislation that became law which sanctions the terrorist group Hezbollah and, by extension, Iran for supporting terrorism, thus showing leadership when it comes to standing with America's allies, especially Israel.

As President of the United States of America, Marco Rubio, a son of immigrants, will restore the American Dream.

He will repeal Obamacare to save Medicare.

He will balance the budget, abolish regulations, cut government spending, cut taxes for all Americans and business owners to strengthen the American people's purchasing power and to make sure our businesses will increase their ability to innovate, hire and create jobs, improve our education system to create opportunities for every children, give us energy independence through oil production and drilling and then the promotion of the development of renewable energies a promote free trade to make our country competitive and grow our economy by innovating, finding new consumers around the world and reducing tariffs barriers.

The Rubio administration will stand with our allies and against our enemies by increasing military spending in order to make sure that we will be able to defeat any threat. Under Marco Rubio's watch as President, we and our allies will form a great international military coalition and intervene in Syria and Iraq to eliminate ISIS. In order to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons, President Rubio will restore sanctions against Iran and build a regional military alliance in order to increase pressure on Tehran and destroy any missile thrown against us and our allies. To put an end at the Russian aggression in the Eastern Europe, Marco Rubio will reinforce military presence in this region to ensure security and Ukraine, train and arm the Ukrainian army, vanquish the pro-Russian rebellion and free Ukraine from Russia's tyranny. President Rubio will ensure South China Sea's territorial integrity by reinforcing our navy's presence there, multiply military exercises in the region with our allies to make sure they will be ready and able to stop China's aggression and, if they have to, defeat the Chinese navy. He will show his courage to take action against North Korea by putting Pyongyang back on the list of states supporting terrorism and build a great and powerful intergovernmental military alliance organization with our allies around the Pacific to deter North Korea from making nuclear tests or attacks and attacking it's neighbors, to avoid any war with North Korea and to ensure peace, stability, security and freedom on the Pacific.

Choose a path to justice, integrity, fairness, freedom, national unity, economic prosperity, strength and security. Vote for Marco Rubio for the sake of a New American Century!

I'm Marco Rubio and I approve this message.

-Interview with Jake Tapper of CNN :

Jake Tapper : Good evening, Senator Rubio.

Marco Rubio : Thank you. This is a great honor, Jake.

Jake Tapper : Recently, the U.S. Senate adopted the USA Freedom Act, and President Obama subsequently signed it into law. The USA Freedom Act's purpose was mainly to replace the USA Patriot Act, which had expired the day before. Although some sections of the USA Patriot Act were toned down, there are still parts that remain intact. What's your advice on this matter?

Marco Rubio : That's a bad deal for America's national security since it imposes new limits on the bulk collection of telecommunication metadata on suspected terrorists, which deprives us of the necessary tools to fight terrorism. Without these tools, we risk suffering another terrorist attack after the recent attack in Garland, Texas, last month.

Jake Tapper : You know, Turkish President Recep Erdogan's party, the Justice and Development Party, lost 69 seats and their majority in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. President Erdogan is recently negotiating with the opposition to form a coalition government. How do you think he will manage to do so?

Marco Rubio : Well, even though Turkish political parties don't share the same views on social issues and economic issues, they have common goals such as fighting and defeating radical Islamic terrorism and stopping Russia's intrusion in Syria. In Turkey, the terrorist threat is stronger than ever before, so I believe Erdogan's minority government is an opportunity for the Turkish people to work together in order to face and overcome their challenges. And they are not alone, we are behind them.

Part of Stephen Percy's anti NAFTA speech in Des Monies Iowa

I am very disappointed to see that other candidates in this field want to countine and some even expand NAFTA. Well not me!!

People here have told me and this campaign  all around the state of Iowa which are and they have people who are farmers and who know farmers that they got their jobs and corn exports shipped off the Mexico!

Senator Rubio wants to get now TPP involved and I say to that NO!!

*Crowd cheers*

This trade agreements such has CAFTA,NAFTA and TPP favor big businesses over small people working their tail off to make a living and that is totally unfair!!

When I am President that is gonna change!!

Marco Rubio's response to Stephen Percy's accusations in Manchester, New Hampshire

I have respect for Stephen Percy, but I'm sorry to tell him that he's wrong to say that free trade is bad for the economy. Do I need to remind you that one of the main reasons why the Great Depression got longer and worse is the legislation of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930 that increased tariffs and reduced American exports and imports, thus increasing unemployment rate from 8 % in 1930 to 25 % in 1932?

One of the factors of the actual economic sluggish in which we are living is that President Obama did not sign a single free trade agreement during his presidency. Many agricultural companies, especially dairy companies, in New England, including New Hampshire, are benefiting from free trade partly because American milk is approximately twice less expensive than the Canadian milk, which encourages American and Canadian consumers to buy more American milk than Canadian milk to keep their purchasing power strong.

The Transpacific Partnership will be an asset for America because regional potential members of the TPP that are usually great trade partners to China will be orienting more and more to us as trade partners. In addition, American cars will be less expensive than Asian cars thanks to energy independence, which will result to the purchase of more American cars than Asian cars. By opening more markets and look for new ones, we will increase our ability to innovate and compete in this world economy. Goods and services crossing borders ensure the development of new ideas and models and allow our producers to learn about the market through the failure and success of traded products. By learning more, they will be favored to innovate and keep their competitiveness.

So if Percy believes that free trade is bad for the economy, then I think he seeks to be a leader of the past and seeks to be a champion of big government's intrusion in the economy through higher tariffs. Prosperity does not come from government, but from the American people's ingenuity, hard work and entrpreneurship and that's why we need to put the government aside, to cut taxes for all the American people, including the middle-class, to increase their purchasing power, and for business owners to make them competitive and able to produce, innovate and hire. This election must be about the future, not about the past, and I seek to make that future a New American Century.

STEVEN PERCY's response to Marco Rubio on social media

Dear Senator Rubio, NAFTA has resulted in jobs lost to Mexico and Canada which resulted 1,000+ people being laid off with our job.

If we pass the TPP all top manufacturering jobs will be lost to countries such as India,Japan and China

I am all for free trade however this free trade agreements are only good if you are a corporation and make millions of dollars a year.

I want people to trade however they want but those aggrements seem very restricted.

It if makes you sleep at night I will find out a way to negotiate with NAFTA sand make it at least tolerable.

Granted.

By the way, just letting you all know that from the next turn on, turns will last two weeks rather than one, so that we can hopefully get through the debates and primaries faster.

CLIP From STEVEN PERCY ON THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH STEVEN COLBERT

Colbert:Alright now our very special guest is someone who you would never thought in a million years would run for president but ladies and gentleman Steven Percy!

*On drugs*

Colbert:One of the things I have curious to know is what is your view on well marijuana?

*Percy laughs*

Percy:Oh that is a totally important issue to me. I mean I don't do drugs anymore let alone weed since my daughter was born but I support it being legal 100%. There are worse out there trust me *Laughs*

It's crazy how many people are going to jail over peacefully smoking a plant I mean come on folks there were worst things back in my heyday!

Colbert:What I want to know is what do you think when people see you put in your book Sex,Drugs, Ratt n Roll  what do you say when they say that is not presidentalZ

Percy:I tell them that was in the past and I am clean and 100% sober and even since my daughter was born I haven't done that stuff and I said that before and I will say that again.

Just wondering, when I speak Spanish in some parts of my speeches, should I put English subtitles or do you understand Spanish well?
