Chafee's career path is entirely predictable knowing that he's an imbred incompetent WASP, and we've already seen this trajectory sort of with fellow super WASP-y Lowell Weicker (ex-Liberal Republican Senator, Independent Governor, has since been a voice largely anti-war ect.)

good god Chafee is awful. And so is Raimondo. Rhode Island politics is pretty depressing.
Whitehouse is solid.

I'll accept that Whitehouse is solid in the context of Rhode Island politics, even with some remarkably dumb comments as of late.

I was under the impression that Reed was a pretty excellent Senator and person overall. Especially his refusal to leave for more prestigious offices.

I want him to run just to see how he would answer the "how do we know you won't switch parties again?" question that Anderson Cooper asked him with an extra layer of party switchery.

Don't trust Whitehouse. Or Cicilline.

Reed is excellent. He's always considered for Secretary of Defense.

Not my congressman, but the other RI congressman, Langevin, is good though a bit too moderate.

Why not? I just happen to like the guy because I saw him smack down Cruz hard in a hearing once.

Cicilline was so unpopular for a while he put his safe House seat in genuine danger.

Cicilline lied about Providence's financial situation and tried to cover it up, but the mayor who succeeded him exposed it.

Whitehouse is of the Chuck Schumer mold.

I kinda like Langevin, but other than that I agree political pickings here are grim. I guess I support Gina, but not enthusiastically.

Rhode Island is too blue now, for Chafee to run, Gino Raimondo for Gov.

Better than Gina Raimondo. He should challenge her in the primaries.

Chafee's a Democrat now, albeit centrist.

He ran the most to the left of any of the Democrats, as far as FP goes.

Will be interesting to see if Fung can repeat his 2014 performance.

If only the people of Rhode Island voted for Robert Healey in 2014. Oh well. Anyway, Lincoln Chafee is a goofball and Gina Raimondo is almost Dan Malloy levels of bad. Allan Fung looks like he'd make a competent governor.

He chaired the Trump's Rhode Island campaign (and Trump did better than any Republican in Rhode Island for a generation).

Ah ok

I read up on him a little bit. Looks like he wants to run as an independent Trumpist

Which will only hurt the GOP in one of their few pickup opportunities in 2018.
