Assuming you want rings with a center, like Saturn's rings, or the rings of Dante's Inferno, you would have districts that in some places would need to be less than a precinct wide for hundreds of miles. And it would be interesting where the best place to make the center CD would be. I nominate my house in the Silverlake district of Los Angeles. Tongue

You're right, this is surprisingly fun
There is a lazy river in the shape of Texas on the roof of a hotel in Houston. If someone did a map with 36 districts, they could tile the interior of the pool area to match. The innermost districts should be star shaped.
