Just a few facts for the blue avatars:

The Dems aren't "out of touch" and on a "witch hunt": public opinion shows that a huge majority of Americans want a special prosecutor--just go find the CNN/ORC polls or PPP polls from March.

Nobody is a hypocrite because nobody is defending Comey or his prior actions, but rather saying that this looks like a move to cover up the Russia investigation, which Sarah Huckabee Sanders' comments just a little bit ago basically confirm. So, you're making a false equivalence here. We don't want Comey, we want an investigation unimpeded by the President.

There is absolutely evidence that could indict Trump himself possible, and almost certainly his campaign. It's a fact that Manafort, Page, Flynn, and other were in contact with Putin's people. It's a fact that the leaks targeted against HRC were launched by hackers with ties to the Kremlin. I'm not saying it's a smoking gun, but it certainly is something that merits a serious investigation. Now, I know that some of you dgaf because you think women are made of ribs and climate change is a Chinese hoax. But most Americans haven't descended down that hole yet. See my first point.

Which brings me to that final point about that hole: I know that you know your logic is shoddy, but for the past few decades you've built an alternative media apparatus to reify your unfounded beliefs, brainwash others, and keep an unsustainable status quo in place that is based on buzzwords like freedom and justice, but really has no values--as your flippant disregard for the sanctity of this investigation demonstrates. That's the textbook definition of fascist ideology--not an insult, just a fact--so just know that nobody arguing in favor of continuing the investigation is outside of the mainstream; you are.

What if there is only one valid side?
There's no evidence to be 100% sure the reason was the FBI investigation into Russia. Therefore I'd like to also see a different side, that it is in fact because of Clinton scandal. However CNN has immediately made up their minds (not only them, NBC is equally terrible if not worse). This is not about facts, this is about their political preferences.

Wanting to see all viewpoints is laudable and is something I endorse.  But in this case, the idea that the firing was because of the Clinton investigation doesn't hold up well.  If nothing else, the timing simply doesn't make sense.
Because it isn't true and partisanship the the only reason any Trumper is on here defending it

Trump is scrapping his plans to visit the FBI after being told he will "not be well received" http://www.mediaite.com/online/trump-scraps-fbi-visit-after-learning-he-would-not-be-well-received/

After hearing and reading some news, I don't believe Trump fired Comey because of Russia investigation. Otherwise he should have appointed new one very quickly to cover-up and acting director isn't sounding as someone willing to cover-up. And Watergate comparisons are lunacy. It probably has to do with Comey unwilling to charge Clinton (and if so, that would be actually a very good move!). PR is not the biggest strength of Trump so it is what it is and the liberal (often fake news) media jump out on the bandwagon immediately, with their ultimate goal of see an impeached Trump. Such is their hate for him.
Man you must be dizzy from all that spinning

Comey is a strong patriot who is well aware of the classified material around Trump relating to his businesses and his Russian ties. I would imagine Comey will not let that die down easily. Neither will his allies in the FBI who feel he was pushed out.

Yepp. So it (as I said initially) is a really good news. Trump's acting resulted in the 'Russia ties' will get even more scrutiny!

The way Trump fired Comey is also very interesting. It was really awful, almost as Trump wanted Comey to react/start to leak. I hope we'll get soon much more new information (if there is something Wink)

And now Trump is dropping a massive hint that there are "tapes" of the conversations with Comey. I suspect that Trump has been leading his oh so predicable opponents into a massive elephant trap.
Just like he has that letter from the NFL

I want to take a moment to commend the Trump voters for their tireless campaign of spinning, lying, and defending their commander-in-chief even in the face of outright fact. It must take serious work and motivation just to keep yourselves going with the constant, day-to-day screw ups coming from the guy you elected.

They don't think any of this controversy really exists except in the minds of Democrats and the "mainstream media," which fabricates all of this. Just watch FOX News, they're reporting is that nothing has even happened except the Democrats are harassing Trump because they dislike him.
The big tv screen in 1984 has more journalistic integrity then Fox does right now

Trump to Fox on whether he asked Comey for loyalty pledge: "I didnt, but I don’t think it would be a bad question to ask"

Though I must say if such tapes exist: "How low has President Trump gone to tapp Comey's phone during the sacred dinner. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!"

Can we please forget about the attempts to derail the thread from the fact that the President of the United States was mad at the the Director of the FBI for investigating the President's campaign's ties to a foreign power, so he threw a temper tantrum and fired him?
Thank you!!!!!!!!!

This reinforces my belief that one of the main problems in America today is information bubbles. There is no common ground on issues because we cannot even agree what the issue really is. According to Republicans, the controversy over the Comey firing is due solely to Democratic hypocrisy, the "mainstream media" trying their hardest to find any fault with Trump even if they have make it up, and Democrats making this into a partisan issue so they can continue their absurd witch hunt because they lost the election. All their media outlets are saying is essentially that, while avoiding even addressing the concerns others in the media and Democrats have raised.

Of course, Republicans will contend that it's the left that lives in a media bubble being fed left-wing propaganda by partisan media outlets and a desperate Democratic Party. Republicans have essentially abandoned acceptance of objective fact and that it's discoverable by sources such as PolitiFact, hence their disregard for its scoring of Trump as, basically, a habitual liar during the campaign. Whatever the President, GOP, FOX, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Herman Cain, and (for the craziest among them) Alex Jones say is like the word of God.
