While some might choose Elizabeth II as the best b/c she's definitely the most loved, I'd say George VI is the greatest British monarch. He never even wanted the job in the first place, yet his internal courage & fortitude formed the backbone of the UK. He faced his stuttering disability down w/ as much courage as facing Hitler in WWII, & stayed in London during the Blitz. Passed away tragically early, as well.
