It took place Dec 7, 2016.

Presidential Result:
John Dramani Mahama (inc) 4713277 44.4
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo 5716026 53.85
Paa Kwesi Nduom 105682 1.0

Parliamentary Result:

Ashanti443047
Brong Ahafo209029
Central194023
Eastern276033
Greater Accra2113034
Northern1318031
Upper East312015
Upper West56 011
Volta125 026
Western Region1610026
Total1691060275

Key:
NDC -National Democratic Congress ("left")
NPP - New Patriotic Party (center-right)
PPP - Progressive People's Party (liberal)

The media-hyped (in Ghana anyway...) breakout of the new "centrist" PPP didn't happen.

Oh, and LOL to Nana Konadu-Rawlings, the wife of previous president-dictator Jerry John Rawlings. She scraped up 20000 votes because people felt sorry for her.

The north-vs-south, east-vs-west split of the vote was apparent in this election as previous ones: Akans (Ashantis/Akeyms) of central and southern Ghana voted for their own Akufo Addo while the north and east of Ghana voted for Mahama. But, thankfully, the two main candidates managed to win constituencies in all regions of the country, with the exception of the Upper East region where Akufo-Addo was shut out.

The comprehensive results are archived in GhanaWeb

If I can find the previous election returns, I'll add them to this thread.

The previous election result on Dec 7 2012 has its own Wiki. Highlights:

President:
John Dramani Mahama (inc) National Democratic Congress  5,574,761 50.70
Nana Akufo-Addo  New Patriotic Party    5,248,898    47.74

Parliament:
PartyVotes%Seats
New Patriotic Party5,248,86247.51123
National Democratic Congress5,127,67146.41148
Progressive People's Party182,6491.650
Convention People's Party81,0090.731
People's National Convention72,6180.661
Independents275,7812.503

Mahama didn't receive much of a mandate at all in 2012, considering his slim PV win, and his party's PV loss in the parliamentary elections.

*Mahama filled the unexpired term of John Evans Atta Mills, who took office Jan 8 2009 and died on July 24 2012.
