Who are the Green and Libertarian nominees.

Austin Petersen wins the Libertarian Nomination; defeating Gary Johnson on the 1st Ballot with 51% of the vote. He is running with Mary Ruwart.

The Green Party has once again nominated perennial candidate Jill Stein; however she has expressed some support for many of Elizabeth Warren's positions.

Petersen is polling at 1-2%.
Stein is polling at <1%.

Warren Brings her A Game to Debate
The Massachusetts Senator and Democratic Nominee was taking prisoners in her first debate with Republican Governor of Massachusetts, Charlie Baker. Warren, opened with a broadsided attack on Baker, chastising him for 'coddling up to Donald Trump' and said a Baker Presidency would be an 'affirmation of the radical Republican agenda'. Warren, who has consistently trailed Baker throughout the general election in polling samples, faced a need to exceed expectations. By most analysis Warren delivered.

From wrapping Baker in the mantle of Trump, to defending the Clinton record, while pushing her own progressive vision for the future Warren succeed.

Baker, for his part blasted Warren for her Trump attacks, but stopped short of being overly critical of his former rival, despite being more than glad to a few months ago. This decision is seen as a calculated one by Baker, who is hoping to keep the Trump coalition together in order to defeat Warren in November.

Baker's best line of the evening was his critique on Warren's experience. After, fumbling an answer on her legislative accomplishments, Baker responded to Moderator Anderson Cooper's follow up question regarding his own experience. "I think the major difference between myself and Senator Warren is, unlike being a United States Senator, as a Governor you have to make decision, and those decisions have immediate consequences. Senators can deliberate, Governors have to lead."

Polls conducted following the debate found most viewer saw the debate as a draw between Baker and Warren; though for Democrats the debate was declared a win for Warren, who needed to perform well. A few days after the debate a CNN/ORC poll found Baker still ahead; 50% to 45%.

Baker Campaigns in New Hampshire
The latest WMUR poll finds Baker ahead of Warren 49% to 45%.

Buchanan "cautiously optimistic"
In an exchange on CNN, political commentator Pat Buchanan, a former Trump supporter, said he is 'cautiously optimistic' about the election outcome. Buchanan, now a supporter of Charlie Baker, said he believes the Massachusetts Governor will likely win the Presidential election, because of 'democratic party fatigue' and because 'Warren makes Hillary Clinton look like a Republican'. However, Buchanan did say the election is far from over, and is worried a surge for Warren could boost her over the top. "Her running mate the fellow from New Jersey is drumming up African-American voters in North Carolina, so if Baker can't take that back he doesn't have a shot". Polls find Baker slightly ahead in North Carolina, 50% to 46%.

Haley Rises in VP Debate
If Charlie Baker lost any momentum in his debate with Elizabeth Warren, he certainly regained it in the Vice Presidential Debate. His running mate Nikki Haley was deemed the winner over Corey Booker by a margin of 51% to 35%. Haley, used the platform to dismantle the Clinton Presidency,
while at the same time tying both Booker and Warren to the dysfunction in Congress. "It's time for new people to step up and move America forward, the same old-same-old will not cut it any longer."

Baker Shines in Town Hall Debate; Seen as More Empathetic
Despite enduring a recent attack by Elizabeth Warren that he is an uncaring technocrat, Charlie Baker showed in the second Presidential debate his compassion for a question regarding healthcare.
A woman asked a question to both candidates over the rising costs of health care, to which Warren answered with a call for a single payer option, saying 'it's the only way forward'. Baker, used the opportunity to point to his home state of Massachusetts, but the moment which received the most traction had nothing to do with substance at all. The woman, clearly nervous asking the question began to tremble, and stumble her question, saying "I just don't want to lose my insurance." Baker responded in the affirmative, "I can promise you, you won't lose anything." As if made for TV, Baker gave the woman a hug, comforting her, while Warren stood to the side.

The unplanned moment drew applause fro the audience and was replayed again and again, immediately becoming a viral sensation. Some blasted Baker for it, calling the hug 'phony', while others saw it as a moment of genuine compassion and gave the Baystate Governor high marks.

SNL even got in on the act, beginning with a skit where Baker is running around on the campaign trail, hugging everyone from Bill Clinton to Barack Obama. The skit even ended with the with real Baker appearing in-person to hug the satirized version of himself.

Polls consistently found after the debate and 'hug incident', Baker leading Warren: 51% to 44%.

Democrats Privately Conceding "Election is Over"
After the first debate, Democrats had reason to be hopeful. Elizabeth Warren seemingly found her footing against Charlie Baker, and shined throughout the forum, but through a combination of factors the campaign fumbled and Warren seemed to become trapped by circumstances beyond her control.

Privately, Democrats began to fret over the election outcome. One Democratic source said to the New York Times, "she's going to blow it." And another added, "Joe Biden would be in the lead right now."

The problem with Democrats stems more from Warren, but goes back to the President and the 2016 election. In the race against Donald Trump, Democrats ran on a single message: Stop Trump! It worked, Donald Trump was defeated by Hillary Clinton, and while she prevailed with 322 electoral votes, both the Clinton Administration and Democrats in Congress failed to understand their mandate.

"They haven't had a message," said Democratic strategist Krystal Ball, who supported Joe Biden during the Primaries. "We haven't been on message since the 2012 election, and that's the problems. Democrats are a lot of everything, but stand for nothing." Ball cited the fractured primary between Biden and Warren as a 'major factor in hurting the party'.

Reports even suggest former President and now First Gentleman Bill Clinton privately fumes over the Warren Candidacy, and feels if Hillary were the nominee the Democrats wouldn't be in this situation.
Privately, the former President said, "the Democrats do not understand the blue collar work anymore" and apparently puts much of the blame on President Barack Obama, who is seen as moving the Democratic Party away from the Reagan-Clinton Democrats, towards a coastal elites coalition. Apparently the First Gentleman has said, "the reason for this mess is Obama". The White House has denied the leaked reports, but pundits and Democrats have noted the former First Gentleman has not been on the campaign trail, stumping for the Warren-Booker ticket.

Clinton Stumps for Warren on Last Day of Campaign
Clinton & Warren campaign in Pennsylvania.

The 45th President of the United States looked tired and weary campaigning for Democratic nominee Elizabeth Warren. Hillary Clinton, having gone through the rigors of four presidential campaigns, and two senate races appeared to have finally run out of steam. Her praise for Warren was deep, but her specifics short. Evident to all those watching, not only then, but for months, Hillary Clinton could not articulate the reason why Elizabeth Warren should be elected President of the United States.

According to unsubstantiated reports Clinton's health is poor, and the President is counting down the days until January 20th. Other reports indicate a President who is glum. Frustrated by the turn of events, and the lackluster legacy of accomplishments. "I feel the only thing history will say of me is that I was the first woman President of the United States," Clinton apparently has repeatedly told aides.

The President did not take any questions from reporters during the Q&A with Warren after the rally,
leaving one reporter to call the President's demeanor, 'shattered'

This is a President, who knows how things will end, and barring some miraculous upset she will see herself as the reason for the party's collapse, and rightly or wrongly blame herself for failing to stand up and take one final plunge into the deep end.

November 3, 2020: America Elects Charlie Baker 46th President
The MA Governor Speaks to Supporters shortly after midnight on Election Night.

Polls consistently showed Charlie Baker leading Elizabeth Warren, but no one quite expected the magnitude of his victory. The Massachusetts Governor won a sweeping victory on Election Night; garnering an impressive 356 electoral votes and nearly 52% of the popular vote. Baker held the Trump states of 2016, while returning Nevada, New Mexico, Virginia, Michigan, New Hampshire and Maine to the Republican column. Baker also picked up Minnesota, a state which hadn't voted for a Republican in a Presidential Election, since 1972.

Exits polls found voters were looking for change, and overwhelmingly supported Baker, as to opposed to just voting against Warren.

The collapse of the Democrat's blue wall (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan) doomed Warren's chances, and the magnitude of her loss has Democrats scratching their heads and gasping in disbelief.

"This election was just as much about a referendum on Democrats as anything else," said former Democratic Governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell. "Democrats need to regroup and figure out what the hell they stand for, otherwise 2020 will not be the first time the map looks like this."

In his victory speech, Baker pledged to 'unite America' and vowed his Presidency would not be partisan, but practical and pragmatic. Even as Republicans increased their margins in both the House and Senate, Baker called his win 'not a victory for a party, but a victory to get things done'. He praised Elizabeth Warren for a hard fought race, and said 'with the election now done and over with, we can begin the work of binding up our nation's wound and getting to work!"

Improving on Trump's number in the district, and cutting into Warren's slicing Warren's margin in Cumberland county.   Also the presence of the green party didn't help.
