If the version of events in that memo can be corroborated, then that should be ballgame. There's no spin to be had on this one; that would straight-up be abuse of office and obstruction of justice.

Don't underestimate the GOP's thirst for tax cuts and gutting the safety net.

At some point, they have to think they'll have a much better chance of that under Pence.

The NYT confirms they don't have the memo, but they've "seen it" lol.

Guess I'll have to wait and see if another media outlet confirms this story.

NBC has already confirmed it, and I think CNN has too.

Do you think we will ever find out, sometime long from today, who the main leaker/WH source is?

They'd probably be able to make a pretty lucrative career out of speaking about it.

It must be Mark Felt.

Its strange to think that the Flynn investigation probably wouldn't result in direct links between Trump and Russia to be uncovered. Yet trump's 'self-goal' by firing comey is what actually might take him down.

Same thing with Watergate.  Nixon could have survived the break-in.  It was the ensuing coverup and obstruction that got him.

It looks like there may be more shoes to drop.  From CNN's story:

Is it normal protocol for an fbi director to keep notes about their meetings with the president? I assume it is, or did comey see his firing coming and wanted enough "revenge material" as possible?

If trump really said what the memo states, how did he expect it not to be leaked?

It's normal protocol for anyone who works that high in the government. Their called MFTR's (Memorandum for the Record), and are common practice because people often forget details from important meetings months later.

Corporate world too, although we usually call them CYA memos. Smiley

This just keeps getting better and better.

No, it keeps getting worse and worse. If the allegations are true, it's not something that is "good" regardless of party. It hurts everyone. Watergate hurt everyone and american trust in gov't has not recovered since.

I know this sounds petty, but I am feeling prety suicidal over all this. Not because I like trump, but because I fear the next 20 years will be nothing but democrat/liberal control due to fallout.

Nothing lasts that long in American politics.

Per NBC, a special counsel has been named to take over the FBI Russia investigation.  It's former FBI Director Robert Mueller.  http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/special-counsel-will-take-over-fbi-russia-campaign-interference-investigation-n761271

The writers are living up to their evening deadline.

I wish they'd move the show to a new time slot.  The current one falls right in the middle of my evening commute.
