Somewhat important, but it can't be Hillary Clinton. Caroline Kennedy would be great!

Actually somewhat important, as 2020 will be the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment (which gave women the right to vote).

Yes, it's a symbolic thing, but don't underestimate the power of symbols.

I would prefer another black man myself personally. Not Booker though. Herman Cain.

This. Unless of course her opponent is a dude with pretty much the same ideas, comes from a similar background, and roughly the same attitude.

Not really important at all, though my two preferred candidates (Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren) are women. Though my third preferred candidate (Steve Bullock) is a man.

I do think the ticket should have both a man and a woman on it regardless.

I'd certainly prefer it, but there are a lot of other factors more important to my vote.

Not at all important. I want the best President whether they're a straight Christian white male or a lesbian black Muslim.

Most of the better potential candidates are women anyway.

My strongest demographic preference is for someone born later than 1960.

How about someone who is not a lawyer?

100% agreement.
Seems like a no brainer. Unfortunately many Democrats seem to have no brain.
Clinton made way too much over this issue. I think people who make it so important are really really stupid. Does anyone remember Sarah Palin? It seems Dems could have learned that lesson, but they insisted on being really stupid. Because of their stupidity, Trump is now President.

How about someone who is not a lawyer?

Not even someone who was involved in nonprofit law?

Seriously, anti-lawyer jokes can be funny, but they are taken way too seriously.

Not at all. I really don't care for the gender of a candidate and would rather choose to vote for a 2020 candidate whom i agree with on policy the most.

With all of these sexual harassment allegations coming out, my desires to have one is being fueled.
