The Muslim world on the whole is just as horrified as we are that so many of their youth have joined such an evil organization's ranks. I don't see how this could be anything less than positive?

And to clear up on the confusion regarding Saudi Arabia... according to this German article I've found, the TV network which produced and aired this show (MBC) is actually located in the United Arab Emirates, but has a Saudi businessman as CEO. So, the Saudi government itself doesn't have anything to do with it directly.

Looking MBC up on Wikipedia, the main owners of the network are named as Waleed bin Ibrahim Al Ibrahim and Abdul Aziz bin Fahd, the latter of which is in fact the youngest son of the late King Fahd.

Thank you for clarification, Old Europe Smiley

The trailer is quite powerful.

Saudi Arabia doesn't directly fund Isis, which is not to say they are blameless of that they don't fund nasty people. Their theology is more ultra conservatism than "argh rise up and unite the global ummah".

I mean, the House of Saud is at least aware that the unification of the global ummah would not be under the auspices of a caliph from the Saudi family, and the resulting caliph would almost certainly not be interested in the retention of a relic of the prior order.

Yes. The motivations of the qataris are perhaps a bit harder to fathom.

There are obviously some influential members of the House of Saud that views ISIS as useful tool in weakening their regional foes, such as Iran and Syria, while realizing how a full ISIS victory would mean to them. They are playing with a fire. Yes, Saudis are not funding ISIS directly, but they know very well how it works.

Qataris, on the other hand, seems somewhat detached from reality, pumping funds into the Muslim Brotherhood and there's no big deal "because they are far away, lol".
