Kim Guadagno did not get a mandate from NJ GOP.  Many of her opponents got more votes than her in parts of the state.  I think this renders her Weak for November. Thoughts?

She'd be weak in November even if she won every county in the primary.

Murphy's win was also unimpressive so it kinda cancels out.

I dunno. The Democratic primary was competitive (well, at least more competitive than the Republican primary) with more candidates. Guadagno was the heir apparent and she couldn't even crack 50%. It's a sad showing.

Both nominees are weak within their parties going into the general election. I would argue that Guadagno is actually in a better position than Murphy since Murphy now has to contend with George Norcross who is likely not happy that Murphy boxed Steve Sweeney out of the Dem primary.

Guadagno's win wasn't that unimpressive as I believe Ciattarelli was closing the gap in the last week, no? That being said, the race is obviously Safe D.

TBH I expected him to do better considering how some people here were hyping up his campaign.

Any win where there are multiple counties where your opposition got a combined >70% of the vote is unimpressive.

It's not like it wasn't a Safe D race to begin with.

Christie killed the Republican brand in NJ

True, but Bramnick, Webber, and Kean can reinvigorate the New Jersey Republican Party.

She will lose to Murphy by over 20 points.
