Apparently, the imam protected the van driver from the angry crowd until the police arrived.

Indeed, confirmed by mutiple news sources attacker is white and yelled "I'm going to kill all Mulisms".

Another hint it wasn't IS is than there is various bars and nightclubs very close to the mosque. More obvious targets.

Title needs to be amended, only one person dead, and it may not be related to the attack. The van ran into a group of persons helping a old man who fainted at a bus stop, he may have been already dead.

The van was rented in Pontyclun, Wales, so the inquiry is going that way.
