while I love my party very dearly, im going to have to depart (at least temporarily) to try something. This is a realy political party already, and i love its views, although we will have to expand on them.

I am creating The Atlasian Light Party.

to learn more about the real party (where many of the ALP's views will come from) visit this webstie: www.thelightparty.com

the party will be socially liberal,  economically liberal with an interesting touch in the tax department (the 'optional taxes'/ Power to the people tax plan), and a foriegn policy dove. The real party has few stances, so we will need to add more in our platform.

i feel that there needs to be a party between the ILP and the communist party, especially with the special views of The Light Party.

I will take any questions here in this thread

i will be making a more in depth talk about it later today. if you have any questions, feel free to ask. with the few stances of the real LP, thres always room for us to add some of our own views during the making of our bylaws and platform.

They have left a sour taste in my mouth for a variety of reasons. Although, I think it's best I dont discuss it, because I dont feel like debating over the issue. Of course, if I do leave the ILP, it may not be for long, as this new party may not live for long.

Let me guess, Prostitution and AA?

No party will be an exact ideological match for its members, ever, unless we start having lots of one/two man parties. I also think that having honest disagreements over policy does not mean that  their arguments are directed against you as a person.

Oh yes, good luck with your new party, though I'm obviously not happy about losing members from the ILP.

I have long thought there was an opening for a party in the vein of the United Left still remaining in Atlasia, one that may renounce the social issues-neutral stance of the FLP and the economic centrism of the ILP. I hope we can retain reasonable relations with this party if it survives.

Actually, the party ended up agreeing with me on affirmative action. Or at least, we came to a compromise I could handle.  But anyways, if I leave, it wont be because I hate you guys, because I dont. It's not because you hate me, which I don't think you do. It's because, I want to try out LiberalPA's idea, because it is a closer match to the Independent Liberal Party. But right now, the ILP is too much of a "big tent" party for a place that has so many parties.

I would guess that the President's stance on prostitution would be the one Earl finds most objectionable. I can't really think of anything else.

Page doesn't display. Real professional, lol. Looks like the traffic from this site crashed theirs - are you sure you wish to mimic a party with such a weak, girly website? Wink

Your link doesn't work, so I took the time to find one that did:

Seriously, if this is your model of a political party, you are way further out than even the Greens or relic Socialists.

I would guess that the President's stance on prostitution would be the one Earl finds most objectionable. I can't really think of anything else.

He also came out and lambasted Belinda Stronach, one of my favourite politicians. Plus- I feel he has been a weak President, and by that I mean fairly inactive. I rarely see any of his posts anywhere any more.
