* Probable vote, but in the past I try to stick mostly to the big two and YUGE third parties like Bull Moose or Populists
** Preferred, but sticking two Whigs and Democrats of the time only, Butler for 1848 and abstain in 1852
*** Actual Votes, with no hindsight. Jill Stein in 2012 and a Write-in in 2016 were what I'd do if I relived those again

Weld might have been my first general election vote for President had he led the Libertarian ticket. As it stood, no man who had nuked his brain with atomic THC could be trusted in the Oval Office.

I'm not a Libertarian but Weld is an accomplished man and politician who's most certainly fit for the presidency. Johnson on the other hand no, he would have been more dangerous than either Clinton or Trump.

2016 was the election where the tickets should really have been led by the running mates rather than the nominees.

I haven't identified as a libertarian in years, but my preference for the last few months (at least), and especially since I cast my primary vote, has been that leadership occupy a space of calm, boring stability (what I regard as an implicitly conservative preference). Weld, while bringing little agreement with his positions, might have provided that at least.

Without hindsight and without potential VP consideration:

1900: Teddy Roosevelt
1904: Charles Fairbanks
1908: John Kern
1912: Hiram Johnson

1920: Calvin Coolidge (Hindsight is not always 20/20)
1924: Burton Wheeler
1928: Joseph Robertson
1932: John Garner
1936: John Garner (Curtis's depression was still unpopular)
1940: Henry Wallace
1944: John Bricker
1948: Earl Warren
1952: Richard Nixon (Assuming Korea still happened)
1956: Estes Kefauver (As much as I respect Eisenhower, Nixon was no Eisenhower and was more hawkish).

1968: Ed Muskie (Assuming Vietnam didn't happen)
1972: Sargent Shriver
1976: Walter Mondale
