We Deserve Better
An alternate 2016 timeline

Donald Trump: I just can't do this

Trump: "America needs someone who will bring our jobs back and make this country great again! [...] But, I have great family, I love what I'm doing right now, I don't think my life can be any better, I'm sorry for anyone who wanted this, but I just can't do this, I won't run for president. [...] There are many people running and I believe we will choose a fantastic person, a great leader who will bring our jobs back, who will make our country safe again and will make America great again!"

Despite speculation from the media and from many people, and Trump saying he was considering running for president, he announced on June 16th he wouldn't run for president. In the same speech Trump made controversial statements of proposals that he would like to see candidates doing, with the most memorable being him saying that Mexico is not sending their best people, "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” said Trump, he also called for a wall to be built in the southern border.

No matter what people may say, I feel like a Trump presidency was unavoidable. If it didn't happen here, it would have happened later. And no matter how hard I have tried to change things on in what ifs, I end up getting Trump sometimes to run even earlier and winning then. Trump was destined to be president one way or another, it was only of matter of time

Wow I completely forgot that you had this timeline.  I started something similar.

Is it ok if I continue to work on mine as well? It's much less in depth.

Sometimes people just come up with similar ideas ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But go ahead and continue it.
Haha thanks Smiley

Ted Cruz wins the Iowa Republican Caucuses

Bernie Sanders was able to win in a close race in Iowa, this victory wasn't expected by anyone because Sanders was 5% below Clinton in most polls, the victory is expected to impact greatly Clinton's campaign

Bernie Sanders: 50% - 23 delegates
Hillary Clinton: 49% - 21 delegates
Martin O'Malley: 1% - 0 delegates

Aftermath

Rick Perry drops out

Martin O'Malley drops out

Rick Santorum drops out

Mike Huckabee drops out

Trump

New Hampshire Republican Primary: RCP average

Rand Paul: 28%
Jonh Kasich: 17%
Marco Rubio: 15%
Ted Cruz: 11%
Jeb Bush: 10%
Chris Christie: 6%
Ben Carson: 5%
Carly Fiorina: 3%
Undecided: 5%

New Hampshire Democratic Primary: RCP average

Bernie Sanders: 57%
Hillary Clinton: 40%
Undecided: 3%
I'm so happy my favorites may be in the final 4 Rand Paul and Ted Cruz!

Ooh... If Rubio endorses Kasich, as I suspect Sandoval and most other Rubio backers do, I could see a brokered convention. Condoleezza Rice would be an interesting running mate for Kasich or Paul.
