Would you rather live in Little Earth, Minneapolis or Pine Ridge, SD?

Little Earth is a predominately Native American (Sioux) housing project in south central Minneapolis. It sits in the Ventura Village neighborhood, right on the border of the Cedar-Riverside one, two notorious sh!tholes. Cedar-Riverside is primarily known for stacking refugees and immigrants into Soviet-looking housing projects full of weak heating (in Minnesota), rats, frequent plumbing problems and all around slumlord haven. Little Earth isn't known for good upkeep either, and sits at the nexus of various gang territories, and the neighborhood is quite notorious for gang shootings, armed holdups, muggings, auto theft and vandalism.

However...you get to live in Minneapolis, you would live near a primary public transit route, and you have quite a few job opportunities.

Pine Ridge meanwhile doesn't have much crime at all...but has weak public transit, mass unemployment, extreme poverty, and not too much job opportunities except casinos.

Anyway very easy choice for me.

There is no lack of crime in Pine Ridge. They just have woefully inadequate law enforcement and the crimes committed by and to Pine Ridge alcoholics across the border in Whiteclay probably skews the official crime figures. There is a lot of domestic violence, child abuse, etc. that goes on in Whiteclay that goes unreported. Hopefully the situation improves now that the Whiteclay beer stores have been shut down.
