Bad manifestos can sink campaigns, just ask Michael Foot

Manifestos:

Each party leader has until Friday to publish the manifesto of his respective party. All that manifesto needs to contain is the six key pledges of the given party, with the following template:

Silly Party Manifesto:
1.- Pledge one
2.- Pledge two
3.- Pledge three
4.- Pledge four
5.- Pledge five
6.- Pledge six

If you want to add a foreword or a slogan ("the many, not the few", "strong and stable", "take back control") go ahead, but six pledges is the limit to keep it simple and fair.

BELIEVE IN BRITAIN MANIFESTO

We believe in Britain and we believe that our people can lead us to a new and bright future with the adoption of our manifesto. Britain is a nation that has overcame challenges and conquered seas and we can conquer our greatest challenges and fears once again. Our manifesto, is simple and protects the average British working man and his interests. When we put the interests of our people first and not the Europeans in Brussels our nation can succeed into a brand new future. When we, Believe in Britain, and her people we will truly be free.

1. A Referendum on Exiting the European Union:
The United Kingdom Independence Party is the only party in our nation that supports the exit of Britain from the European Union. We support a referendum on whether to fully leave the European Union. The bureaucrats in Brussels, have ruined our nation and our values, destroyed our industries in the fisheries, coalfields and steel plants. When we exit, this will stop.

2. Restore British Soverignity over Jobs, Immigration, and Fishing:
Since the entrance of Britain into the European Union, we have lost total control of our way of life and how we sustained our way of life. Uncontrolled immigration from Eastern Europe and other nations across the globe have caused great distress for our NHS and our economy. We support a fair immigration system that allows 10,000 immigrants a year and full restoration of border guards near our ports. We support a crackdown on illegal immigration. When we entered the EU, we controlled over seventy percent of fishing in Europe and our fishing industry was worth billions of pounds. Now we control less than ten percent and we make only £76,000,000 per year. We will restore our borders in both immigration and our seas.

3. A Foreign Policy Centered on Protecting Britain:
We have many great immigrants in our nation and we support full assimilation for the immigrants in this nation. We support a major reduction of foreign aid to all nations including our allies. We must take the money that we spend on foreign aid and re-invest it in our people and our NHS. Nations that harbor or support foreign terrorists that kill our soldiers including Pakistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia shall receive zero foreign aid until they stop harboring and supporting terrorism. We must also invest in our military and hire more police and soldiers to protect our people. All police officers should carry firearms on them at all times to protect our people from terrorism.

4. Expanding Grammar Schools and Vocational Training:
Classical Education needs to be re-introduced in our nation. All parents want the best education for their children and our current school system is failing our children especially in poor and rural areas in our country. As we are the party of the common man, we support further investment of over £60,000,000 in our educational system to build new grammar schools and vocational schools. We need more good, high paying jobs in our nation and a solid vocational education will provide that.

5. Major Investment in the National Health Service:
Our NHS is in the need of major reforms. From high wait times to a shortage of doctors and nurses we must find a way to solve this problem. We will form a bipartisan council of politicans, medical professional and citizens from all classes and backgrounds to root our corruption, propose solutions and fix our NHS. We must further invest in our NHS and when we exit the European Union, we will propose to spend that money on education and our health service. We must root our corruption and provide better care for our people while bringing our NHS into the twenty-first century.

6. Institute a Buy British, Hire British Policy:
For too long, Brussels has ripped off Britian with influxes of low-skilled workers from Eastern Europe that take the jobs of good British men and women. Our government will produce a bill that requires that all companies in Britian verify that future and current workers must have either legal status in Britian or citizenship. We will also create a one-time ten percent tax for all British income overseas to further invest in our communities and nation. We will also bring back our jobs lost be entering the European Union to our shores in the fishing and manufacturing industries and return Britian to its world powerhouse status economically.

In conclusion, our nation has succeeded in the past and will succeed in the future if we, Believe in Britian, and follow our manifesto.

Delivering a Better Tomorrow:
The Conservative and Unionist Party Manifesto

"The past fifteen years have seen enormous changes sweep through the world and through Britain. We have, as a people, been united in both joy and grief, celebration and sorrow.

"While the resilience of the British people has proven immovable, the resilience of the successive Labour Governments have not. New Labour has, through its arrogance and disregard for the very people who elected them to office, presided over a stagnation in living standards and overseen the most devastating recession since the 1930s.

"A new government is sorely needed for this nation, and it is sorely deserved. There must be a better way. We can no longer afford a government who burdens the poorest among us with excessive taxes and ineffective services, who saddles our children and their children when unsustainable debt, who stretch our armed services thin with no plan or support, and who can not see and feel the pain and suffering caused by their recession.

"The Conservative and Unionist Party will deliver a vibrant, dynamic, and bold program of government for every part of the United Kingdom. This Manifesto outlines our vision for a new way of government, and it is my commitment to you.

"It is my firm belief that together we can deliver a better tomorrow."

Theresa May

A New Economic Agenda to End Labour's Recession
The recession presided over by the Labour has seen unemployment rise to crippling levels with the elderly seeing their pensions evaporate and school leavers unable to find a job worthy of their talents and dignity.

We propose an immediate reduction in taxation for low and middle income tax brackets to remove the hands of the state from the bank accounts and pocket books of the nation. Labour has shown that their stimulus plans extend only to multi-national banks, we want to grow Britain by giving the people a greater share of their own money.

We will deliver an immediate tax cut for small and medium sized businesses and freeze any further increases in corporation tax. We will deliver a tax credit policy for any person starting a new business in their local community and incentivize employers to hire from their area.

We will reform banking regulations to guarantee the stability of all savings and investments made by families and pensioners and guarantee that another banking crisis like what Labour delivered cannot happen again.

A New Deal for Workers
For fifteen years, New Labour gave all of its attention and focus to the financial sector and the City while working class communities up and down the breadth of this country found their incomes stagnate, their local economies dry up, and young people flee.

We are committed to respecting the rights of working class people wherever they live in this country and will legislate to require fair and full represation of employee representatives in every board room in this country. We can only improve the lives of workers if their own voices are heard; we do not intend to speak for them, but rather give them a chance to speak for themselves.

We will cut taxes for every working class family in this country and protec their jobs through an industrial reinvigoration scheme to update industries into the twenty-first century green and tech economies.

Hope for Young People
Labour's recession has robbed millions of Britain's youth the hope of a better future just as they enter adulthood. This is a shameful legacy and one we must correct.

We will remove all tuition charges and fees for low income students entering university and reduce rates for lower middle class families, while instituting a freeze in any rate increases for the first year of the new Parliament.

We pledge to require repayment only when graduates can demonstrate a certain level of stable income, and not continue with a ticking clock of debt repayment for students searching the jobs column.

We will return dignity to job apprenticeships and technical training which will provide a stable income to school leavers and reinvigorate local economies.

Prosperity for Every Corner of Britain
We commit our selves unequivocally to preserving and strengthening the devolved governments and local communities. By working directly with communities and their representatives, we will redistribute government funding and project investment to the north of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to guarantee the same economic freedoms and opportunities are enjoyed in every part of this country.

We will begin construction of a national broadband scheme to connect rural communities and industrial areas to first class, super-fast internet service for their homes and local services. This scheme will create at least half a million new jobs and revolutionize local services.

We will legislate for the creation of new locally-driven business partnerships to foster enterprise and innovation with the needs and opportunities of local areas at the forefront.

Tackling Labour's Debt Crisis
In a supreme act of arrogance, New Labour thought the answer to its recession would be to create a burden of debt for the next generation to inherit.

We will return the books to balance by eliminating wasteful and duplicate spending, and ensuring that welfare services help those truly in need in the best possible way.

Just as we will relieve taxes off of nearly every man and woman and place student debt under control, we will not allow New Labour's debt to stifle the economic output or innovative future of this nation. Our first budget will take radical action to slow the growth of the budget deficit by cutting £6 billion in wasteful departmental spending this year. Labour will not tackle spending reductions until at least next year and will increase taxes in the meantime, meaning more of your money to add more debt for your children to pay back.

Britain at the Center of the World Stage
Our foreign policy will be one which recognizes the strength and ability of Britain to do good in the world while ensuring that we always receive the best possible deal in international trade. For too long, New Labour have played host to EU bureaucrats more concerned with greater regulation than boosting trade and incomes. We will use our position within the European Union to put positive trade deals at the forefront of the agenda while boosting EU investment in Britain. We will veto any agreement which surrenders any further British sovereignty to Brussels.

We will, upon forming government, immediately begin negotiations to withdraw from the London Fisheries Agreement and give British fishermen exclusive rights to all of our territorial waters extending twelve nautical miles offshore.

We will work to develop a stronger, smarter, and more effective defence policy through NATO and our relationship with the United States. We will not commit British soldiers to conflicts which do not deserve their sacrifice, nor will we return them to a country which does not respect their honor.

Sinn Féin 2012: A Fair Recovery for Ireland

“A Chairde,

Over the past five years, we have seen an period of economic hardship caused by a global recession that has created unprecedented challenges for our families and our businesses. We in the North have been hit particularly hard by our economic downturn, as our economy and our society are not fully in the hands of a government elected by and accountable to our citizens. Our political institutions must change to guarantee the people of the North our fundamental right to control our own future. Taxes raised here should stay here, and the Executive and Assembly must have the power to decide how they are spent.

Other parties will muddle their message with suggestions of deals and agreements, propping up Labour or Tory. Only Sinn Féin has as our sole priority creating the best deal for all our people. We have achieved more in direct negotiations with the British government than all other parties have in decades on the back benches. Following this election, we will seek an immediate negotiation with the incoming government to protect our public services by gaining full control over our economy. Your vote will strengthen our hand."

Gerry Adams TD

1. Implementing the Good Friday Agreement:
While Sinn Féin has fully upheld all agreements in which we have entered, there are several outstanding issues within the Good Friday Agreement and subsequent negotiations that the British government has not yet acted upon. Chief among these is a referendum on Irish Unity. Sinn Féin has called for a referendum on Irish Unity to be conducted within the next five years. Other key elements of the Good Friday Agreement remain unrealized, including a Bill of Rights for all citizens, the creation of a North/South Consultative Forum, and the recreation of the Civic Forum. A vote for Sinn Féin is a vote to push for the full implementation of all agreements.

2. Empowering Stormont
The current relationship between Stormont and Westminster means that the needs of Britain will always take priority over the needs of our people. Real economic growth will only be driven by the Assembly, not by Westminster. The current economic arrangement is unacceptable to achieving that end. We support returning to the Assembly and Executive the economic powers necessary to guide the North’s recovery. We seek full control over income, corporation, inheritance, capital gains tax, as well as control over national insurance, borrowing powers, and the power to set the minimum wage. Full control over these taxes will allow us to build a fair taxation system that meets the needs of our people. Money raised in the North ought to be retained here and reinvested to support job creation and the delivery of strong public services.

3. Creating Jobs
It is clear that a sustainable recovery requires action to stimulate economic growth. In the North in particular, our recovery is hampered by different economic structures north and south that pose a barrier to island-wide trade. An agreement to integrated, island-wide cooperation on economic development will create jobs and increase productivity. To that end, Sinn Féin supports the creation of a Border Economic Development Zone, in order to harmonize trade across the border, as well as the removal of transaction costs for cross-border trade and a review of regulatory barriers for border businesses and cross-border staff transfers. We also support investing in our infrastructure and our businesses, through the creation of an island-wide plan for rail, road, and waterway infrastructure investment and the creation of a state-owned community bank to provide low-cost credit for ordinary people as well as small and medium enterprises.

4. Protecting Public Welfare
Sinn Féin stands strong against attacks on the most vulnerable in our society. We seek not merely a more economically robust society, but one in which all people are able to share in our prosperity. While flexible working schedules can benefit employees as well as employers, without guaranteed income and guaranteed hours workers face an uncertain economic future. Sinn Féin stands for the elimination of zero-hour contracts and the creation of a living wage. We believe this guarantee of a livable income should extend beyond one’s working years, and support making the Pension Credit automatic.
Moreover, we support the expansion of social programs to halt poverty. One of the leading causes of poverty is a lack of adequate housing, particularly the lack of adequate social housing, which forces many people into the private rental sector. Sinn Féin supports a plan of house-building to ensure that housing remains affordable for all people, as well as rent controls in the private rented sector and moratoriums on evictions for those in mortgage arrears. This will be funded, in part, by removing the rates rebate on second homes.

5. Creating a Just Society:
Sinn Féin stands for a just society in which all people are treated equally. We believe a united community can only be built through a firm commitment to pluralism and inclusivity. To that end, Sinn Féin will always seek to stand against racism, against discrimination, and against sectarianism. We seek an Acht Gaelige to promote the Irish language and safeguard the rights of Irish speakers, the demolition of the peace walls, and equal rights for all regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity—including the right to vote for all people age 16 or over, marriage equality, and equal treatment of LGBT parents in social services.

6. Continuing the Truth Recovery Process:
Sinn Féin believes that families deserve to know the truth about the deaths of their loved ones. We stand for independent and impartial investigation into legacy inquests. Specifically, we call for a full and independent public inquiry into the murder of Pat Finucane, as agreed to by the British government at Weston Park, and the full disclosure of all information held by the British government related to the Dublin/Monaghan bombings and the Ballymurphy massacre. A vote for Sinn Féin is a vote to pressure the British government

'For too long people across this country haven't got a fair deal. They watched the wages in the city soar, as pay packets got squeezed. They watched a political class take us into an unnecessary war in Iraq, and they watched MPs waste taxpayers money on feathering their own nest.

When Britain voted for a new voting system it's clear that they were voting for a new politics. They know what happens when the two old parties are left in charge- they crash the car. They know that Labour simply cannot be trusted to make the hard, necessary decisions, and they know that the Tories are so out of touch with modern Britain. When you're going to the vote in this election remember that when they're left alone they ruin this country.

Only the Liberal Democrats can provide a new, fairer politics that works for everyone. Our message is simple- if you want a fair deal in life, vote for the Liberal Democrats

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

A Fair Economy
The Liberal Democrats will ensure that Britain's Economy finally works for everyone. We'll be fair, and make sure that Britain balances the books by 2022, and we''ll pay down Britain's debt by carrying out a pound for pound audit on all spending.
+We will introduce new taxes on the unfair bonuses of bankers, and break up failing state owned banks like RBS.
+We will cut wasteful spending by local councils, Military officials and NHS executives, all of which have swelled to unsustainable heights.
+ We pledge not to borrow any additional money for day to day spending.

Fairer Taxes.
Britain's tax system has simply not been fair, and both the old parties have refused to take the tough, necessary choices.
+We will make sure that anyone who earns less than 12,000 will not have to pay any income tax.
+ We will scrap the old banding method of council taxes, and introduce a fair tax based on the value of the land.
+ We will remove the tax-exemption on private education

A Fairer Society
Britain has a great liberal traditions of tolerance, openness and compassion. We want to work together to unleash this fairer society.

+We will legislate to ensure that same-sex couples can gain marriage equality, and to ensure that straight couples can gain civil partnerships, whilst protecting religious rights.
+We will introduce a ban on smoking in cars, and introduce plain packaging on all cigarettes.
+We will introduce a new Communities, and Equality Act, to ensure that sex, race, age, location, wealth or history does not stop any citizen from reaching his full potenial.

A Fairer Education
Britain's education system needs to face the tough, and ever changing economy, that requires new skills, and a new approach to Britain.
+We'll introduce a lock on tuition fees, maintenance loans, and grants for all students in the UK.
+We'll use a tax on private education to pay for free school meals for all primary school children in the UK.
+ A place at university, an apprenticeship or jobs training for every young person.

A Fair Environment
The two old parties have ignored the environment, and as a result have left us a planet in great decline. The Liberal Democrats would introduce a fair deal to protect our planet.
+ We will ban hydraulic fracking in the UK.
+ We will work with international partners to secure a new, global climate deal to radically lower CO2 emissions.
+ We will scrap the Hinkley Point C rector, which will rip off tax-payers and instead fund wind turbines, solar panels and other renewable sources of energy

A fairer Politics
Britain's old political system is ripe for change. The Liberal Democrats fought for a new voting system, and only the Liberal Democrats can fight for a fresh, fairer politics.
+We pledge to reform the House of Lords, to cut it's number of members by 30%,
and end the rich subsidies it receives.
+ We will introduce Metro Mayors, and expanded devolution powers for all regions in the UK, including Scotland, and Wales.
+ We will seek to introduce a cap on private donations to political parties.

Help Is On The Way: Labour 2012

"Ladies and gentlemen, the time since the recession has been extremely trying for all of us. We have heard the cries of the unemployed, the hungry, the homeless. We have seen those whose rights to fair treatment by their employers trodden upon by corporate fat cats, desperate for help. We have seen mothers struggling to care for their children because they cannot afford to leave their work. The recovery from the crash has been marked, but many are still suffering. To those who have been left behind, to the forgotten man, I have a simple message: help is on the way."

 - Prime Minister John McDonnell

1. Fair Work: We pledge to ensure that all workers have their interests represented at the highest levels of Government by:
 - Protecting labourers from firing if they engage in collective bargaining, to protect their right to have their voices heard by their employer..
 - Expanding paid paternity leave to four weeks, while increasing pay for mothers during this time, so that no mother has to juggle working and caring for a child simply because they cannot afford it.
 - Creating a Ministry of Labour, to provide proper oversight and ensure that corporations obey the laws that protect their employees.

2. Better Pay: To address the crisis presented by income inequality, we will:
 - Bring the minimum wage fully in line with the living wage (£10 per hour by 2015), because nobody should have to toil away at a menial job only to live in poverty.
 - Cap the ratio of highest-paid employee to lowest-paid employee at 25:1 in all companies receiving government contracts -- to keep the playing field level and facilitate a pay raise for Britons.
 - Providing other programs outlined here to improve conditions for the many, by ensuring that the rich pay their fair share of tax.

3. Smarter Better Faster Stronger: In order to improve the quality of education for Britons, Labour will:
 - Expand the Free Hours entitlement towards two-year-olds while simultaneously expanding childcare entitlements, to eliminate the gap between paternity leave and the start of government-provided care.
 - Ensure that the current entitlements are adequately funded, to correct the issues with patchiness facing the programs today.
 - Move towards the creation of a National Education Service -- one which will provide point-of-use training for employment, protecting education for Britons' entire lives.

4. A Healthier Britain: The National Health Service is an essential fixture of Britain's healthcare system, and it must be strengthened to ensure that all people have adequate care. We will:
 - Provide £30 billion through taxes on the wealthy and private medical insurance, to expand the care that the NHS can provide for the people.
 - Set a concrete goal of reducing wait the median wait time to eight weeks, so that no more have to die while waiting for treatment.
 - Further expand options for care at home and private care, to ensure a more personal and more flexible experience for all patients.

5. Modernize Our Infrastructure: In order to remain competitive in today's economy, Britain must have access to today's infrastructure. We will invest £250 billion in:
 - Rebuilding our transportation networks, such as roads, railways, and airports, to make it easier and faster for people to go about their daily business.
 - Modernizing our energy sources by subsidizing solar power, wind power, and bio-energy, with a goal of producing 85% of energy via renewables by 2030.
 - Ensuring that every household in the United Kingdom, from Northern Ireland to Scotland, is able to connect to the internet with speeds of 12.5 MBPs or above by the end of the Parliament in 2017, through subsidizing the expansion of telecom facilities into underserviced areas.

6. Keeping Britain Safe: Britain's role on the world stage is critical. Labour will ensure that we maintain our position by:
 - Conducting a comprehensive review of our military spending and operations, to ensure that Britain is being strongly defended without bureaucratic inefficiencies.
 - Preserving our strong relationships with the US and our allies in Europe, in order to ensure a sound economy for Britons and to better share intelligence to protect from terrorist threats.
 - Addressing climate change, the defining international issue of our time, both with action at home and by promoting agreements abroad.

Yeah - there's a couple of articles on their website: link 1, link 2. They're about how Scotland could have a spaceport, using Prestwick Airport, and as an R&D hub for space technology.
