Standing Strong for Northern Ireland: The Democratic Unionist Party’s 2012 Manifesto
We pledge to:
1. Secure a referendum on the future of the United Kingdom in the European Union while working to protect our historic and special relationship with the Republic of Ireland;
2. Protect the triple lock on pensions and free bus passes for our seniors;
3. Provide increased funding for broadband internet in Northern Ireland, improvements at Belfast International Airport, and the expansion of ferry services between Northern Ireland and Great Britain for commerce and leisure;
4. End the unfair and unkind bedroom tax, which disproportionately impacts families of the disabled and elderly, immediately upon the Opening of the new Parliament;
5. Increase spending on health services in Northern Ireland to ensure that everyone who needs to see a doctor can see a doctor in a reasonable amount of time and receive a higher quality of care; and
6. Restore the death penalty for the most heinous offenses, ensuring that the punishment fits the crime.
