As noted in this thread, there is a special election for a WA State Senate seat that will determine which party controls the chamber, and more importantly, whether or not Democrats get a trifecta. This seems like the kind of race that would attract an absurd amount of spending, and for good reason.

So the question is, just how much money will be spent there?

Way more than what should be spent. This race is all but Safe D anyhow

That is actually part of what got me wondering how much cash will be burned in that district. This is really the kind of district you would expect a Democrat to clean up in, especially in a special election under the current political environment.

I'm thinking that there will be a burst of money at first, but if the polls remain stubbornly against the Republican by a wide margin, the funds will start to dry up rather quickly. It doesn't really matter how crucial a race is, if it's in a safe district where the resources aren't making a difference, there isn't really any point in continuing.

But, who knows. Maybe it turns out more competitive than we think. As Atlas users, we should obviously hope for this Tongue
