Let's assume Bullock wins the Democratic presidential primary in 2020 and chooses Heidi, who will narrowly have won reelection two years before, as his running mate. Who would win, and what would the election map look like?

I'll likely be voting third party in 2020, but if I decided to choose between the two Bullock.

My prediction:

I think it would be relatively close overall.

You guys are really understimating Trump. 60/40 chance he'd win here. Minority turnout would be lower/more Republican.

Normally I'd admit you're right. But Trump alone will raise the minority turnout...

I agree with that except for IA going republican. Iowa changes hands like a hot potato. Especially considering regional bias I think Bullock wins Iowa.

The Democrats, but they may no carry either home state.  Montana could happen, but North Dakota would be extremely difficult.

Bullock with a minority VP would be a great ticket for Dems in 2020.

The Dem ticket more appeals somewhat to middle-America and allows them to win back most of the Rust Belt. However, the Sun Belt narrowly remains in the GOP column.

A lot of voted bled to the Greens

Jill Stein got 1% in an election with the two most unpopular candidates ever. 3rd party vote share is going down almost no matter what in 2020.

With four candidates ranging from centrist to right wing, the left will want their own candidate. That's just logic.

Bullock. Heitkamp would be a terrible choice of running mate, but I think Bullock still wins.
