Before 1912- usually GOP (Jackson, MI was the birthplace of the GOP in 1854)
1912- Bull Moose
1916-D
1920,24,28-R

1972-88: R (in 1976, MI gave Ford his largest numerical majority of any state; Ottawa County was Ford's 4th best county in the US)
