He's definitely running, and while he probably won't win, expect him to do better than more conventional nominees in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

1. Yes, he's confirmed it.
2. I'd give him a 50/50 shot.
3. I hope not.

I've learned my lesson from 2016.  Never be overconfident.

Only God knows why Kid Rock is doing this. I'm sure this is something this forum will be talking about all summer long. A serious discussion would be wasting time, but he was born free to do this. Some parts of Michigan are a redneck parade, so this cowboy could win.

Although, when asked to comment, Debbie Stabenow did say "You Never Met a Motherf**ker Quite Like Me"

Yuck, I'm not going to be able to enjoy his music now.

You were previously unaware of his political leanings?

Sure, unlike conservatives, I don't care if musicians mouth off, since it's harmless, but actually running to make my laws makes him threatening and unpleasant enough to spoil the music.

Seems like pretty big generalization there, considering the fact that our "all liberal all the time" friend from Minnesota probably cares more about a musician political views than anybody else in the world.

He probably wins the primary. Whether he wins the GE will, as with 2016, depend entirely on turnout.

Everyone seems to think Kid Rock will win. I doubt it. I don't think 2018 will be a GOP or Democratic wave.

Stabenow is entrenched and has won 2 landslides since knocking off a GOP incumbent in 2000. Being an amateur, I expect him to make some of the same fatal gaffes that Terri Lynn Land did in 2014. Gary Peters won that open seat by 13 points in a Republican year. Kid Rock is a paper tiger.

In a Trump midterm? If he wins, the Democrats are done anyway.

That's a really liberal interpretation of the words "fantastic" and "song"

I haven't paid this guy the slightest bit of attention for over 15 years now so I was kind of surprised to find out his music is now pure southern rock stuff since I only know him from his rap/by-metal days. Of course not too shocking seeing as how dead that genre is.

Yes, well done -- like stake as Donald Trump likes it. Burned to a crisp. I don;t know about ketchup...

A defeat of Debbie  Stabenow indicates that Donald Trump is establishing a permanent lock for the Republican Party in American political life except for the giant cities and areas with large minority populations.

Kid Rock sounds like another empty-suit pol.

I dont think he's running...he probably saw how gullible and stupid Trump voters are and he wants in on some of that cash. Just another grifter looking to grift
He's actually not a bad fit for Michigan.

You and I see the same picture. We are cold and lonely. So will you lean on me? I am shocked and sad that he's running. Right now, I am relying on blue jeans and a rosary, amen. God bless Saturday.

I guess the two big questions here:

1-Will he win Oakland County?
2-Can he win without winning Oakland County?

It's tough to argue the answer to 1 is anything but "no", and based on historical precedent, the answer to 2 is "no" as well.

"But Trump won Michigan without winning Oakland county!"

Yes he did. He was the first Republican since...ever as far as I can tell to do so. But he also won it by about 0.2%. That's not a lot of room for error, especially since Stabenow is far more popular in the state than Hillary Clinton is.

Kid Rock was a big part of Jon Stewart's "March for Reasonability" or whatever he called it. That makes him better than most potential Republican senators.
